About Connecticut Humane Society
The Connecticut Humane Society in Newington is an animal rescue organization described as wonderful and compassionate. Staff members are consistently noted as being kind, attentive, caring, warm, friendly, and wonderful, often going above and beyond for the animals. The adoption process involves meeting cats in individual rooms, with staff being very informative and thorough in providing information to ensure a good match, though potential adopters are advised to read medical reports fully themselves. The experience can feel like a textbook match-up, with the animal sometimes choosing the person. The facility handles end-of-life services with gentleness and calm, providing a good experience during a difficult time. They also assist with injured stray animals, doing everything they can to help. The organization relies on donations and adoptions, with many people encouraging support. A note is made that it can be difficult to get inside as entry requires calling a phone number, and popular animals are adopted quickly, which can create a bit of pressure. Overall, the goal is to give each animal a great chance at the best future in a loving home.
