The park is generally well-kept, with water sources available and plastic bags provided for cleaning up after pets. While the park does not have restrooms, it is considered highly dog-friendly, with a strong sense of community among the local users. Overall, Newtown Park & Bark is a gem for dog owners, offering a clean, well-equipped, and welcoming space for their four-legged companions.
Permit required so it's not a good fit if you're passing through, as we were. That said, it looks very well maintained and clean. The adjacent wildlife refuge DOES allow leashed dogs and has lovely walking trails. You can reach it by continuing past the dog park on a narrow blacktop road to a small gravel parking area.

This park is a gem! Clean and maintained. Plenty of water sources and fully fenced. We stopped by while passing through Newtown but a lot of local people were there and there was a strong sense of community and comradeship. The dogs were great.
