Went a long time ago. Hair stylist messed up my hair. Said she put blonde highlights. I could not even tell. Asked me to make another appointment. I was like I’ll call you. Never. Awful experience. She messed up and would not let me see my hair. Never went back. They should call this continuing the school salon because it’s equivalent to going to the school. Would never recommend. And you pay a ton of money. Not worth it.Service: Haircut

Love Ricci’s and stylist, Charlie. I am so picky about having my hair done and I finally found Charlie about 10 years ago. His cuts are the best, grow out beautifully and are easy to maintain! I’ve tried some stylists here and there but none compare to Charlie. He also does beautifully coloring! Scheduling, check in and the entire experience from beginning to end is always a pleasure. I can’t believe the quality hair stylists at Ricci’s. I used to pay hundreds in the city to have my hair colored and styled but I get better results with Charlie at Ricci’s for a fraction of the cost.Services: Updos

I can honestly not give any higher praise than I give to Cait!! Having near life-long short hair, with at least 500 haircuts and scores of stylists, believe me that a surprising number of stylists don’t do short hair well. 3 weeks prior to my appt with Cait, I had yet another disappointing hair appointment. Unhappy, and not having any references for a stylist, I picked Ricci’s Salon because of overall good reviews online and decided to take my chances. Cait was phenomenal! She took great care to provide the best cut I’ve had in a number of years taking into account texture, desired look and ease of styling. Though I did not want any color treatment at this appointment, she took the time to review various options as I am growing out my color treatments. Be assured that Cait is professional, thorough, exceedingly competent and a delight to have as a stylist!Services: Haircut

To say that my experience at this salon was an absolute NIGHTMARE would be putting it lightly.Let me start by saying that that I do not write things like this often, but in this situation it is necessary.I had seen a stylist here years ago for a balyage on my then dark brown hair and she did a superb job. When I found out she left for another salon I decided to give another stylist a try.I went in to my appointment as a brunette. I advised the hair girl I had some color on my roots that my husband and I had put on but that was all. It had been well over two years since I colored my hair especially since I had been pregnant. She had a healthy and perfect base to work with.I showed her a photo of SUBTLE red/brown highlights carefully put into dark brown hair… I wanted a change for sure, but It wasn’t extreme.In one inspiration photo she said it was more of a balyage than a highlight and she thought it would look very nice.Mind you I was quoted $150 originally for highlights and told it may be more for a balyage. I truly didn’t mind as long as it was done correctly.IT WAS NOT DONE CORRECTLY.What I received was a TOTAL wreck botched job of a haircut with dumb floppy layers which made zero sense and almost looked 80s style (which I didn’t need as I had a cut one month ago, and she said I needed ends trimmed, I think she fried my ends and this was her way of salvaging that), and the color that was just plain weird.She lifted my hair WAY too much. I have friends in this industry, no one could believe what she did to my hair.I have fine hair and she lifted and pulled it numerous colors…leaving me with a rainbow mess of red/blonde and brown.The worst part is she did so much that the top part of my head was over lifted and beaming a weird color… she did WAYYYYYY too many foils which i will never understand why, and mind you she also curled and put a toner on my hair so when I left it wasn’t SO bad. I said I wear my hair straight and she claimed she needed to curl it in order to see the dimension. RED FLAG.She also used photoshop and toned my hair in her after picture which looked 100% opposite of what my hair actuallt looked like. She said she changed the tone in the photo but it was completely different.Just one week later my hair looked atrocious…the toner must have been gone after one wash or something as I now had a horrendous brassy brown/blonde mess.I want to say before I go on that the staff at this salon are VERY nice as is the manager. I begged them to take me in on a holiday weekend because I was mortified to walk around like this. They did.Another girl toned my hair that weekend who was a sweetheart but ONE WEEK Later the toner is gone and I was back to a mess.My hair had never looked so bad. I was frizzy, a million colors, and quite frankly put me in a depression as I didn’t feel myself.The worst part is it was very expensive and I’m a good tipper. I respect the industry and people in it but if I’m paying it has to be quality.My good nature forbids me from mentioned the stylists name BUT I warn you. Be careful when booking here…. Some of the girls really don’t know what they are doing…. She offered to fix it but for what? The toners wash right out and at this point I WAS EMBARRASSED AND HAD LOST FAITH.One month later.. another $200 later, I went to WHIP SALON in Newtown who did a REMARKABLE JOB fixing my hair and restoring it back.Never again will I use Riccis based on this experience.I am a good person and have a heart and didnt ask for a refund but i should have... this has been a hellish month of this.Its a shame but a this point It is what it is. I hope others have better luck if they go.BUT I WOULD ADVISE TO STAY AWAY.Service: Haircut

Laura is a great stylist that's been working with me for almost a year to get my hair healthy after a bad treatment in a different salon. My hair is strong and so much healthier now, and we work towards the final goals together. She is extremely knowledgeable and her suggestions are always greatly appreciated and accurate. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE CURLY HAIR. I WALKED OUT WITH A MULLET THAT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS CUT BY EDWARD SCISSOR HANDS! I came here about 2 months ago hoping to get my 3a curly hair cut and colored light pink, and walked out with a Eddie Munson looking hairstyle and bright purple highlights like the minions from despicable ME 2. Customer service was great, but they paired me up with what I presume was a student who did not know how to handle curls. The night after my haircut, I was looking forward to straightening my hair because i hated how it turned out, and its usually looked fine, not perfect, but fine after my past haircuts. This time my hair looked like a chopped up mushroom. Thankfully my curls hid this, and you might be saying "curly hair isn't going to look good straightened after a layered haircut" and I understand that, but my hair looked like a dog bit off a chunk off of my hair. I was distraught. I wish I could share a picture of how terrible it looked, but I don't want to humiliate myself. The haircut didn't look terrible, or so I was told, but it was nothing how I wanted or asked for it to be. Thankfully it has now grown out and looks somewhat normal again, but I will not be coming back here.

As a very new client of hers, I love that she took time to help find the right product for me. I am so happy with the all over highlights she recommended and I do love my haircut! I bought a Groupon and booked my appointment online weeks ago. When I arrived they tried to tell me I couldn’t use the Groupon because it’s once per lifetime use. I had not been in two years by the way and work a lot of hours. I couldn’t just go somewhere else. So I was stuck. It’s very misleading and the older woman at the desk, I believe her name was Judy, tried to put the blame on me and Groupon. She was saying last time I was there I was told this information. Yeah, two years ago. She wants me to remember that. I told her the academy considers you a new client if you haven’t been in two years. She told me that was the academy. It’s all part of Ricci’s. I told her that I have purchased other things on Groupon that have limits on how much you can buy and will not let you buy them after that point. This one did not. She tried to make me feel bad and said that’s Groupons fault and the Stylist doesn’t make as much when I use a Groupon. I said shame on Ricci’s. They should be the one taking the cut for signing up with Groupon, not the Stylist. Also, I saw the lowest stylist the Salon Stylist. I didn’t even see the second highest or highest stylist and it cost me well over $200 for something that should have cost me a little over a $100 if I was able to use my Groupon. The woman at the desk wasted 30 mins of my day as well as the Stylist. I was very disappointed with my experience yesterday. I have never felt this way before. I have been going to Ricci’s for 10+ years now and never had such an awful experience as I did yesterday. I have gone to all levels of the salon from the academy all the way up to the salon and my experience has always been top notch. Yesterday really put a question in my mind as to whether I would continue going there after that experience. In the end I didn’t get what I wanted done and paid two times more for it. I really want to warn people about this salon. The stylist went rogue on my hair after I went there for a trim and clear glaze. It Will take a year for my hair to grow out before I can highlight it again it’s so damaged. Do not go to this establishment! The owner is extremely unprofessional and doesn’t stand by his word or the work that comes out of his salonSee yelp review for photos on how horrific the damage was.And after they told me to come back to correct it - the owner had no idea how to correct it and applied 4 rounds of toner damaging it even more.My advice is to do your research before going here!
