We were greatly disappointed with our latest experience with Niantic Awning. Based on past orders about 13 years ago, they were a well managed company with a great customer focus. The Lundin family sold the company to Pease Awning out of R.I. in 2015, and our experience suggests they are not the same customer focused company. Apparently managing the work out of two locations creates problems with scheduling and planning. Also sales are only handled out of the R.I. office. The main complaints relate to not meeting the schedule per the agreement and more so the lack of information / updates to let you know what is going on. The price was more than we expected, but we thought they were the best option since this was to replace a stationary deck awning where they had the original cut sheets and could use the original frame and hardware. We should have shopped around, but we figured they would be able to do a quality job more efficiently than a new company. The contract was for 4 to 5 weeks delivery initially, but it in the end it took over 7 weeks for the initial installation and over 10 weeks for the final installation. Unless you called them, you would have no idea what was going on. We can accept delays, but it’s disappointing when they do not keep you informed or respond promptly to inquires. The initial delivered side panel was cut wrong and did not fit properly (never understood how it could be so far off), and they agreed to replace it. We were told repeatedly that they would take it down one day and re-install it the next. The schedule kept shifting and we again had to call to find out what was going on. In the end they removed it a day earlier than we were told and then kept it for 4 days. Had we not called after day 3, it might still be sitting in their shop. Items on our deck were exposed to rain during this 4 day period unnecessarily. They do not take criticism well and made little effort to try to satisfy the customer, Avoid the sales rep if at all possible as he does not follow through on verbal commitments and is not pleasant to deal with.Overall, the quality of the final job was ok, but we were left with a bad taste and suggest others should look elsewhere.

Your men did a wonderful job today installing four awnings. Very polite men who cared about their workman ship. Niantic Awning should be so proud of there employees. You go guys. We appreciate you.

I had a small awning installed four years ago. I had initially selected a color that Aaron advised me would fade in the sun. So I selected another that he said would not fade, and four years later he was proven correct. That is why I have waited this long to post a review. Beyond the color fastness, the price estimate seemed fair, so I did not seek any other estimates. The scheduling was dependable, and the craftsmanship for the installation excellent. Yet, a minor adjustment was needed the day after the installation. I emailed Aaron about it, he phoned me right away, and sent the two installers back to my house the very next day. Good job all around.

Tried contacting them to do business locally. Called twice and it’s been 3 weeks and they never called me back. I went elsewhere. Would not recommend them.

Tried to use a local business, after two calls to them with a promise to return my call, they never called back. Would not recommend.

Thank you all so much for a great awning! Great prices, too! We needed and awning installed quickly, and Aaron helped us get through it in time for an event. Looks great!

Look out their costs are going up up up. I"m now paying $500 just to have my awning put up and taken down over a season.
