I really loved going for a walk on the Niantic Bay Boardwalk on a very warm November afternoon last week. This boardwalk has access to the beach, where the sand is soft and beach is very clean. There are no dogs allowed at any time, not even currently when it's off season. This is unfortunate as my dog would love to go for a walk here, he loves people, and I'm sure they would all be happy to greet him.If you're counting your steps, this is the place to get them without much effort. I made 8000 steps according to my fitbit, and it wasnt even the whole boardwalk. It would also be a nice place for a bike ride, but they don't allow those either. There are plenty of benches if you need to sit for a bit. The dedication plaques with very sweet words add a special touch to this beautiful boardwalk.

I do the walk on the Niantic boardwalk every morning around dawn and many mornings I get beautiful views of the sunrise. It’s a 1 mile walk one way and when you go down and back to your parked car it’s a 2 mile or 40 minute walk at a leisurely pace. You can do the start of the walk at either end as there are parking lots at both places. It’s a great way to start the day.Restrooms: There are restrooms at the Hole in the Wall end (west end) but they are only open in the summer months and for specific hours. There are portable restrooms on the east end but they have seasonal hours as well.Dog-friendliness: Dogs are not allowed on the boardwalks.

It's a favorite place for my family. Anytime of day or evening . It is the perfect place to enjoy the ocean! It's serene, it's beautiful and uplifting. Great for all ages. There's a playground up the hill. There's a boardwalk to walk and enjoy the water. There's two small beaches to access the water one is hole in the wall beach another you access from the end of the boardwalk. The people are always friendly. There's restrooms and facets for feet to rinse. There is great family style restaurants (Broadway Pizza) and an amazing bakery (Giulianos) Candy store/ice cream basically on site at (Gumdrops & Lollipops) all nearby. I cannot say enough about this place. Must go!

Beautiful path along the beach/train tracks. However, no bikes are allowed. Double wide strollers are fine but no bikes. Tiny little signs denoting the rule that are easy to miss.

I live in Springfield, MA. It takes 80 minutes to get there. But, I go with my kids to walk and eat DQ ice cream. And I visit the Bookbarn Place on the way to there. They have a nuclear power plant near the place. It has quiet and beautiful scenery. When I walk, I get my feelings restored and come home peacefully.Restrooms: It has a restroom cleaned well.

Great family spot. We go any chance we get. Beautiful and very clean. My daughter loved watching the boats go out. My husband and son got their fishing on. I had a great nap with the waves at my feet.

Nice walk...no food available...a food cart or truck would have been a welcome site on Sat and Sundays in summer. Being used to FL the beach is okay, it was smokey and hazy the day we were there July 2023 ?️

Great view of the Niantic Bay! The walkway width can seem congested at times with foot traffic in both directions. You can't beat the breeze coming off the bay though - it was quite refreshing!

The Niantic Boardwalk was a sight to behold as the night sky came alive with a dazzling display of fireworks. Colors exploded in every direction, painting the darkness with vibrant hues of red, blue, and gold. The crackling sounds echoed along the waterfront, adding a symphony of pops and booms to the visual spectacle.Families and friends gathered along the boardwalk, their faces illuminated by the radiant bursts of light. Cheers of excitement and awe filled the air as each firework shot up into the sky, dancing and twirling before gracefully descending back down. It was a magical moment, a celebration of joy and unity. As the fireworks soared higher and higher, they seemed to compete with the stars themselves, creating a celestial performance that captivated everyone's attention. Each explosion brought forth a unique design, from cascading sparks to sparkling trails that lingered in the air. The display was meticulously choreographed, with perfectly timed bursts that left the audience in awe.Children pointed their fingers and exclaimed with delight, their eyes wide with wonder. Couples held hands and shared a tender embrace, basking in the beauty of the moment. Strangers became friends as they exchanged smiles and nodded in appreciation of the breathtaking display. The fireworks continued to paint the night sky, forming intricate patterns and illuminating the water below. Their reflections shimmered on the surface, creating a mesmerizing mirror image that only added to the enchantment of the evening. As the grand finale approached, anticipation hung in the air. A series of colossal explosions filled the sky, creating a crescendo of light and sound that brought a collective gasp from the crowd. It was a moment of pure exhilaration, a culmination of the evening's festivities. And as the last firework faded away, leaving behind a trail of smoke, the crowd erupted into applause. The Niantic Boardwalk had become a canvas for an unforgettable fireworks display, leaving everyone in awe of the magic and beauty that could be created with just a few explosives and a darkened sky.People slowly dispersed, their hearts full of joy and memories that would last a lifetime. As they walked away, they carried with them the enchantment of the fireworks at Niantic Boardwalk, a reminder of the power of celebration and the beauty that can be found in the simplest of moments.

So many shells! My feet hurt and I ended up getting swimmers itch. They should sweep the sand to remove some shells. Can't make Sandcastles. And you need to pay to get in, 15 a person. But the view is beautiful.Restrooms: They are the trailer style, clean.
