Board walk next to the beach gives you an amazing view during summer and fall. The Pavilion is great for some family pictures and right next to it there’s plenty of hiking trails with a medium/low difficulty. Great place to bring your dog for a walk.

The beach was fun time chilling with the family. A train passes from time to time and makes a cute song with the horns as it passes through the bridge. Music is allowed and usually under control and life guards are always looking out into the ocean and beach for any issues or assistance.Restrooms: There's a center building for the bathroom. Plenty of stalls and changing rooms.

Great salt water beach to relax and swim. The boardwalk reconstruction is finished and available to enjoy. There's an open grassy area with grills to barbecue, a rock jetty and other rocky areas to fish from near the pavilion. There is also a campground to enjoy and extend your visit. An awesome CT beach and hiking park for family fun!Restrooms: Clean full service restrooms, outside showers and rinse station.Picnic area: Grills, grassy area and some tree shade. Open picnic area close to the beach and fishing space.

Such a cute place! Beautiful brigde and nice beach. Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was quite crowded (to be expected). But the water was beautiful and everyone was really kind. I'm starting to love the east coast!!They have a really cute bridge over a river area to get to the beach.Parking is free if you are a resident.Bathrooms on site.Walk from parking to the beach is probably a quarter mile. Beware of chaffing and bare feet!Lots of other toddlers there for my kid to play with.Dog-friendliness: Absolutely no dogs:/ there were signs everywhere.

The beach was wonderful and clean.A train passes from time to time. There is a separate area for camping and enough place to have a picnic as well. Wonderful place to spend some time.

Nice sandy beach with with camp grounds for longer stays. The beach has sufficient parking for most weekends. It also has two restroom pavilions and a fair amount of grassy picnic area for gatherings. The restrooms were generally clean. Along the east side of the beach is a short boardwalk. One of my favorite things to do is take pictures of the various birds that inhabit the salt marsh area inside the park.

My stuff was stolen on the beach. The tent camping is like a music festival with late night dj spinning Latin fire. Bring a bug net house camping. And other bug stuff. Fire is a must here mosquitoes and stinging hornets abound. The beach is beautiful backdrop...

My favorite beach. Not too rocky, the with the wooden walkway under the train is always quieter, water is nice and shallow. Great for non swimmers to explore during low tide. On the other side the rock peninsula is great to entertain the bigger kids. Had a picnic lunch at the picnic tables a few times. Overall just a great place to spend a warm summer day

Been going to this beach for over 20 years and its probably one of the best beaches in Connecticut. Overall, it's a good beach that has just basically all your beach needs I would say... Its clean about most of times, minor times we will see garbage on beach or grass areas. Beach is big but not that big so becareful coming on th weekends or holidays because it can get busy/packed!There are private beaches, grass/picnic areas, rocks to climb and jump from. (As long as you don't get caught) I never had any real big issues or anything like that and what can I say my friends and family still keep coming here! I even brought my girlfriend for the very first time here last week and she loved it! Plenty of other good beaches in Connecticut but this one is definitely in the top 3 list!Restrooms: Restrooms are on both sides of the beachDog-friendliness: dogs are allowed just not on the actual beachPicnic area: plenty of picnic areaseven hidden ones

Nice Sandy Beach. Going for years. One of the best State park in CT. Family and Kids friendly beach. East and west beaches. Water level and current will differ by season. Parking free for CT registered cars as you pay the cost on registration time. Restroom and Picnic area available. Swimming allowed. Life guards are available. May be sometimes not

Small, free (for CT residents) beach with ample parking, camping & picnic areas. The beach itself was clean but lacked diversity amongst beachgoers. There’s no playground area or splash-pad for small kids. The water was brown & murky with lots of seaweed. The tide was exceptionally low considering the time. (Approx. 7pm) The pond/bridge area was beautiful but had an off putting odor & lots of green sludge. Overall, the beach is just ok in my opinion & not a beach Id rush to revisit.
