Really disappointed… my dog barks etc. spent 700$. Then they wanted me to spend more…. And they wouldn’t board my dog!!!! Really disappointing… talked to another boarder they said most dogs do this and we just treat them separately…. Just want the cash and too lazy to separate dogs? Save ur cash

Very disorganized. After a week of "meet and greets" and "interviews" we were scheduled to finally drop off my dog for her first day. I called the Friday before to make sure they had everything they needed, which they confirmed, and later sent me a text confirming once again that they had everything. As we were pulling up to their location I got a call, indicating that I couldn't drop her off, because they were still missing another test. It seems that to make up for their disorganization, they try to make the whole process tedious and difficult. We ended up at another local doggy day care which worked out great.

I can only speak for the swimming lessons, I can not speak for the training nor the daycare facility. When I go in it’s clean and the people have been kind and attentive. My dogs swim instructor is never late and the pool is big for my dog and my brothers dog we bring them both in together and it’s worth every penny we have two Rottweilers and they love the water and the pool has a bunch of toys in it for them to chase and tire out.We don’t the private swimming lessons which is a reasonable price - they offer other group water classes but we haven’t ever been to one of those :)

As a dog owner it is scary dropping your loved pet off. Our Samson goes about 1x a week. He loves it and comes home tired. They are a full service area. Grooming, nail trims, boarding, training and swimming. Yes my dog is living his best life. When you first start, you have a complimentary half day to see how your dog interacts so they can place them with a specific group. They give you feed back on behaviors. I absolutely love it and recommend it. Enjoy!

I have been using Dog Gone Smart for many years, 25 to be exact. I have had a few dogs in my life during that time. The trainer who trained my first dog is now training dog number 3. I used to work in the area but no longer work there. However, I now drive 25 minutes to and from to get there because it is the best place for my dog. When I drop her there I don’t think about her for the rest of the day because I know she is having a great time w her friends and well supervised. They will call you with any questions they have ( usually because I have forgotten to tell them something or label something with directions for them to follow ).The staff is amazing. Many of the staff that was there 25 years ago is still there now. You will learn their names and how much they have invested in you and your pet. They have GREAT training programs as well as wonderful daycare and boarding.I have recommended them to many people over the years. No one has ever been disappointed. There are many dog places around, but you will be hard pressed to find one that can compare to this facility.

I am so impressed with the knowledge of this wonderful staff. My 15 year old dog wanted to play but was clearly was under stress due to some recent health issues. The way they handled Romeo was fast and professional and with so much care. My 4 kids and I are forever grateful for how you cared for him. I would recommend this place to anyone with a puppy or aging dog like we have.

I brought my 8 month old golden in for Puppy Swims as we'd been trying to get him used to swimming for months with no luck. The entire visit was super efficient - Todd brought him into the pool and within a few minutes he had gone from thrashing around in the pool to paddling efficiently and even retrieving toys. I can't believe how much progress he made in just one short session! We'll be back for sure to continue helping my pup build confidence in the water.

Really disappointed. I brought my 2 mini dachshunds there for doggie day care. One is a puppy and I explained that the visit was mostly for socialization. They said they understood that. I asked for a webcam and they told me they didn't have one because their clients didn't want one (really?). I think in this day and age, it's simply not okay to not be able to see your dogs during the day. Then, they told me they'd send me pictures and videos during the day. Never got any. When I arrived, I went to the large windows on the street and tried to peer in (they have all the windows blocked out by cardboard). There, on a ledge by the window were my 2 minis just barely fitting and shaking on the ledge. Perhaps they were there all day with no socialization! Really sad because I was hoping this could be their "home away from home". Not going back.

Have been taking my dog for nail trims. Always seemed a bit disorganized as you make an appointment but then when you show up they act as if they are confused as to why you are there? Made an appointment for yesterday saw the signs were still up to text upon arrival which I thought was strange. Waited and no one came out so I went inside. HOLY STENCH! It smelled so strongly of dog urine that my eyes began to water immediately and I got a headache. Again, they were confused and told me that the groomer “hadn’t shown up yet” and they didn’t know where he was. If I had set foot inside earlier I would have stopped brining my dog there a while ago. If they can’t be bothered to clean properly, there’s no way the care they are giving is acceptable. Cleaning is the easy part. Never again. Please don’t subject your pets to this filthy place.

My puppy, a highly driven German shepherd, has had fear reactivity issues since she was very young, so we repeatedly sought help from this place via puppy playtime (Which she eventually warmed up to,) and doggy daycare once a week when she got too large for the puppy playtime (after being supervised by a trainer for her first two visits to confirm her stability in the environment.) I was skeptical since the beginning of these visits, since I was of the belief that shoving an anxious and fearful dog into a situation shes afraid of would just worsen her insecurities, but it was recommended that we send her to get her used to strangers and other dogs. Since I am not a professional, I briefly trusted this facility. From her first shorter sessions being supervised by a trainer, I noticed in videos they sent us that my pup seemed stressed and nervous while being surrounded by so many dogs in one room (Around 30 is the amount of dogs we were told that show up on crowded days.) She only actually played with a few. I convinced myself that maybe it was just her adjusting to the new situation, so I let her continue going to the doggy daycare after she was approved to stay without being personally supervised by a trainer (Of course there were people in the room with the dogs, just not paying special attention to any particular dogs from what I gather, as well as no videos or live cameras to assure to owners their dogs are safe.) My pup came back from one of her few visits to the daycare with a small nick on her face, despite being told she was fine that day. This obviously left a pit in my stomach, because if she had truly been fine, I doubt there would’ve been evidence of the contrary on her FACE. One of many red flags. A day after one of her last visits, she became sick and missed about four weeks of her usual daycare visits. On her first day back, my mom who dropped her off was sure to REMIND them that my pup was a very NERVOUS dog and had been absent due to being sick for quite awhile. My dog was able to be clipped on their lead and led away. Everything seemed fine at first, from what I was told, but something happened (I never found out what caused this) and she ended up becoming defensive, reacting/attacking (or whatever happened that day because I’m still unsure) and ripping the jacket of the person leading her inside. My mom, who would bring her in the mornings, was told to take her back and that she would receive a call regarding how to proceed with training after security cameras were viewed to find out what happened. Long story short, it took over a week for anyone to contact us about the situation, and all we were told was to consult further with a trainer at dogone smart and basically nothing of what happened at that last visit cut short. If you’re looking to enroll your dog in doggy daycare, do not risk sending it somewhere with so many dogs and with such poor communication. I learned my lesson, if I need boarding or doggy daycare services, I will be diligent in looking for a quality place with no red flags. I have consulted another trainer at a different program and my first evaluation with them is coming up. She is now just 10 months, this situation happened months ago but I decided to finally share my dogs experience. Even though I hold myself responsible for deciding to send her to this place in particular, I still believe that staff, trainers, whoever working there should’ve realized that my dog was not doing well and communicated that to us immediately rather than leaving us in the dark and only giving us vague information on how to proceed when we WERE ever contacted. The only thing I enjoyed about this place was the private swimming sessions for dogs. It was concise and I believed helped build my pup’s confidence a little, the trainer was nice and I believed he knew how to handle a puppy like mine. It is by far my favorite experience here (Which is why I don’t give 1 star.)

So grateful to the socialization program and Laurie for giving me some insight on my dogs behaviors. Laurie has been kind and responsive to every question I've had, even the occasional after hours/weekend texts where I've asked for advice she's responded surprisingly quickly. I can't wait to live in this area again so I can utilize more of these sessions
