Seemed to be one woman operating the place. She was friendly and careful. Went in within 10 minutes of my scheduled appointment.

I made an appointment online and was taken in on time. In and out of there in minutes! I agree with other reviews that it is not "cozy" feeling there tho. There's no friendly face to greet you or answer any questions when you enter. You check in through your phone or Kiosk and wait till the phlebotomist comes and gets you. Everything looks plain and worn, it's a bright green inside like it used to be an H&R Block before. So anyway I would go again it was quick and easy but I like Middlesex better.

Dirty and run down. Makes you wonder about contamination. Perfectly nice staff if a bit of a ghost town. Used once and will go elsewhere from here on in.

NO STAR review.Last week I had a rotten experience in Old Saybrook Quest. I needed blood work done as I was in extreme pain and went there as a walk in. Was able to be put in 'stand-by', waited an hour before one of the workers told me they were not taking walk ins because of a packed schedule. So - why allow people to walk in without an appointment and not let them know - at the kiosk - that they wouldn't accept any walk ins? Even a printed sign would be helpful, since the workers clearly don't want to speak to the publics if they don't have to. The workers were fairly rude, completely unwelcoming. The waiting area was bland, with a 'hydration station' with cups stacked on top of the water cooler ( it looks like the cup dispenser was once affixed to the dingy walls). The TV volume was super loud which didn't help my migraine. While sitting there, I made an appointment in the Guilford office. There I had a calm experience and was happy that I was able to get an appointment in after an awful experience in Old Saybrook.

After having my Doctor request that I go to Quest Diagnostics for my bloodwork, I attempted to contact them on the phone, but the A.I. phone tree was impenetrable to reach a person. So I drove to the Old Saybrook office and walked in.I entered a room that eerily reminded me of a Soviet Block medical facility with about 25 straight back chairs lined up against the walls, a high security door with a push button combination lock and a window with a desk and chair visible on the other side. After waiting a few minutes in front of the window, I realized that it was a leftover from the days before Artificial Intelligence came into our lives to help us and my only means of communicating with Quest was a touchpad computer screen against a wall which I then attempted to satisfy, scanning all sides of my driver’s license and insurance cards, as a line formed behind me.I then sat under the bright lights staring in silence at a drinking fountain with a label on the wall telling me it was a Hydration Station. The room filled and cleared twice, but I was never called. Did I not fill out the touch pad computer forms correctly? How long will I wait before or IF someone would tell me of a problem?Ah finally, a security breech! The last patient left the steel door wide open. Now maybe I could ask for some help. As I approached the door, very careful not to cross the invisible barrier into the testing area, I could see a long, dirty hallway with a large gray electrical service panel at the end like my house has in the cellar with janitorial equipment propped up against the wall. I patiently waited in the doorway listening to the conversations about getting 10% higher pay if they worked Saturdays. It became evident that they completed the company’s necessary 3 patient transactions an hour and it was now “me time”. After 15 minutes, still standing at the door reading a large sign telling me of my “rights”, with one promising “I will get you some help” by an employee that scooted across the hall from one room to another and now 2 other people waiting behind me, a person came and explained that I was a walk-in and would only get tested if they had time to fit me into the 3 transactions each hour. That was it for me and my comrades at Quest, I went as I usual did, to Middlesex in Westbrook, was met by 3 fully staffed windows, processed quickly and moved onto the waiting room with a TV, carpet and large cushioned chairs like my living room and was back in my car in less than 20 minutes!God Bless the USA

I had an appointment scheduled 1/25/23 @ 3:20pm that was confirmed and was called by Sherri from the location that they wanted to close due to the storm and if I could come the next day. Sherri indicated 9:30am was available but made a mistake and was on the day prior but said to come in and just let the staff know she said to come in. I am a working professional and have commitments based on my work schedule so I except to be seen at the least after everyone that is checked in has passed.I was informed to log in as a standby, of which you can see from all of the other negative post standby is not very efficient. After the last client of the posted being seen showed left from the back was when the staff started to see more client's. I am sure more goes on in the back but I think a serious look at how work is being done completed needs to be reviewed. At the very least efficiency of how patients are being seen.If I was willing to give up my scheduled appointment to allow the office to close due to a potential weather issue, I would hope I could be better recieved by someone actually maintaining a desk in the front.

I think only one person works here. When I tried to resolve an issue regarding scheduling I had to yell down an empty hallway to see if anyone was actually even here. I feel bad for the single employee here… it’s obviously not her idea to have zero administrative help or front office patient facing services. Quest must not have enough revenue to satisfy their lease agreements at their locations to have them so poorly staffed. If they are publicly traded I suggest shorting the stock. Or maybe it’s a buy since the leaders of the company clearly don’t care about patients.

They are too busy to take a walk-in, it takes 10 minutes or less to draw blood. Too Busy cant see anyone after 3:40 because they are too busy. Very bad service go elsewhere!!!!

My experience here was painless and flawless. I have pretty bad medical anxiety and the person drawing my blood did an excellent job, I hardly felt a pinch. Please note there is no office staff, so it is necessary to make an appointment ahead oftime using their automated system and then you scan your own insurance/ID. I strongly recommend making an appointment ahead of time as I heard walk-ins having some confusion.

Had an appointment to do some breath test for a surgery I was having appointment was for 11. Got there early and signed in and sat down. 45 minutes go by not one person comes out or says anything like they are running behind. Someone comes in without an appointment as a walk in and they sit for 10 minutes and are taken right in. Finally at 12 after sitting for an hour I walk up and say I have to leave and go back to work and that taking walk ins when you have people waiting for an hour with appointments makes no sense. The nurse just says. "So you don't want your blood work done". I said I'm not here for blood work. Then she says in the lobby mind you around other patients. "What is it a drug test". I said excuse me no it's not. It's for a breath test for my surgery I'm having. And she then says. So I guess you don't want it now? At that point I walked out. Feeling embarrassed and angry for being treated like this. Will never step foot in there again. Can't believe that's how they talk to customers who are probably already stressed out having to get important medical tests done.

Completely rude staff. I was ignored, and then told to use the "kiosk" and since I walked in 20 minutes before closing time with no appointment I could not be seen. Sorry but any lab I have ever been to in my life (and it is a lot) has never told me I need an appointment. Also never treated me like such a piece of trash and talked down to me like a child. I was told if it was a "easy" test they could do it... Really people.... DO BETTER.... Long story short the kid drew my blood in 5 minutes and I was out of there before their closing time. The old woman in the front literally needs to get a life and do her job without complaining, or retire.

Don’t bother showing up without an appointment because they won’t even attempt to get you in. Rude employees. Quest should not say you can walk in because at this location that is not true unless you are willing to wait hours as I was told or someone doesn’t show up for their appointment.

I was able to book an appointment easily on line for the exact day & time I needed. Crystal drew my blood & it was absolutely the easiest blood draw I have ever experienced.

Even if you have an appointment, you'll wait 35 minutes. Then when you finally get called back, the staff will undoubtedly be rude to you. This place is a sad excuse for healthcare. I've given it two chances and no way I'm going back for a third.
