I hired Joyce to move me from ********* ** ********** Because of the COVID-19 my furniture had to go into storage in **** ******* first. I Purchased extra insurance so that I would have full replacement value up to $35,000. Most of my furniture is antique. They pulled a molding off of my husband’s great great grandma’s Rosewood chest of drawers, and broke a leg totally off my grandmother’s mahogany china cabinet. They then denied to pay for the repair which would have been less than $1000, claiming “Inherent vice”. The term inherent vice In an insurance policy is when an item is destroying itself, not when an outside force causes damage. Examples are when cement hasn’t been mixed properly and a wall collapses or food is contaminated and then packaged. But here they denied coverage essentially because the items were 100 years old, but that is why one hires professional movers and insures for unforeseen damage. Do not use this company!

Service was unacceptable. Billing and quality of move was less than desirable. When appealed to management no recourse

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE!!! Needless to say, moving is one of the most stressful experiences you will go through in life, and it would be nice if the moving company you entrust, and PAY, to get this done doesn't deceive you and extort money from you during the process. Will Hunting (and NOT the good one) came to our home and provided us with an estimate for our move. This we understood was an estimate, and we fully expected our charges to be in excess of the $1200 initial estimate he provided. In fact, at an hourly rate of $200 with four big guys, we believed the job would get done in 8 hours. With one hour charged for driving, the cost would be $1700. However, after the movers arrived and began working, about 3 hours in, we received a call from June, the office assistant, who proceeded to inform us that the love would likely take 11 hours and cost about $2300!!! WHAT???? Let me tell you what Will and June did next.. they waited until the crew got our property to our new residence and then called us again and told us that if we didn't pay the workers the $2200 at that time, they would instruct them to stop working with all of our property on the truck. We were only 5 hours into the job for a total of $1100.00 (including the 1 hr travel). June called again and I told her I gave the crew $1600 and that Will should call to settle up with us after the move... NOPE! Will called and said we had to pay them another $400 or they would leave the property on the truck. After I reluctantly agreed, I assumed the final charge would be $2000.00. NOPE! June called ,AGAIN, and halted work and said we had to give them another $200 bucks or no furniture. Long story short, they wanted $2200 bucks and that was that. The original estimate was a fantasy, provided to us to seal the deal for the job, and then instead of being taken to our new home, we were taken to the CLEANERS!!! LET THE BUYER BEWARE!!! Never use this company and subject yourself to its abusive business practices that more resembled the Sopranos rather than the Callahans. DON'T SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. They are clearly shaking down their customers to pay for their fancy Greenwich address. NOT WORTH THE TIME, MONEY OR AGGRAVATION DURING AN ALREADY STRESSFUL TIME. Hey Bad Will Hunting... this isn't over.
