Read the reviews and didn’t want to come but just needed to ask a general animal question to a vet about what kind of care a specific animal needed to receive. Can confirm the people at the front desk are unbelievably rude won’t even look at you, will completely walk away from you while you are mid sentence or get on their phone while your trying to have a conversation don’t even bother coming because you will ask a question and they will quite literally pretend you aren’t their. Was more than willing to pay to have a conversation but was quite literally ignored out the door. Despicable and they should be ashamed.Update: if anyone is interested in what follows up when the banfield customer service inevitably responds to unhappy customers on google reviews- it’s nothing - they ask in an email for your name your pets name and an automated response asking what happens and they go radio silent. No follow up questions or explanations or plan of action. it’s just damage control so that people get an illusion that the corporate actually cares about problems or feedback.Lady at banfield who ignored me and eventually walked away from me told me to go to another vet office and I did, in the parking lot I called piper Olsen in Middletown , they answered the questions I was trying ask at the banfield office (and pay for the questions mind you!) and piper answered for free on the phone and then scheduled a time for me to come in and get more details.

I brung my Lab to the see Dr. Hannon today. & what an experience, The office is new so it’s clean & spacious front desk receptionist was nice straight to the point & answered pre visit questions. As was the Tech we had. Dr. H worked very well with my pup he didn’t want to leave her lol. The prices are very good & lower than what I expected so I’m grateful for this they do have wellness plans which isn’t INSURANCE but like I said you get a good deal for the 3 packages offered. I did have a coupon indoor first free visit which would only have covered the office exam, but would still have to pay the office visit chargeSo I opted for the wellness plan was overall better & didn’t leave a dent in my pocket. Nice place recommended 10:10 ! (Sorry no pics).

I have been going to banfield for years now with my two dogs before the two I have there now... I have also recommended them to anyone that will listen... and even got my parents to go there with their new dog... I loved the warmth they provided for both me and my babies... with that being said I have to say that this past year things with them have really changed..... I brought my newest baby there and was asked for her adoption paperwork multi times over multiple visits because the information was not transfered properly and she was even given a rabies shot twice do to the lack of information being filled out properly... then with the recent move my baby was diagnosed with lyme disease and had to go back for testing everything went fine and I was told with the move it may take until Tuesday to get the results back which I was ok with as this was Saturday and I could wait a couple of days...well by Friday after a busy work week I realized I still hadn't heard back so I called and was told they were not back yet.. well the next day I got a phone call from the vet and was told that her results were 78 and they wanted her at a 30 but I was also told that the paperwork had been dated for the tueday that was they were supposed to call me but didn't.... and now I just told that the scheduled date that I was given for my other baby I'd past the date for his plan which was made months ago and I had asked about multiple times when I went with my baby girl ... they are dropping the ball on alot lately and it's a shame I just want what's best for my dogs because they are my children ... also they told my parents they they couldn't see there dog because their plan wasn't paid for when in fact it was and It took them going back and forth to finally get that resolved... please banfield go back to the company that I loved and recommended to everyone where they loved their customers and their pets like they were family

My dog went in for some routine work at the Banfield Pet Hospital in Plainville, CT, and needed a tooth extracted for $680.00. Then he came down with a double ear infection with an ear that had a hematoma - $480.00 visit. Three weeks later and two drainage sessions later ( each at $60.00), my dog boy is still suffering. The Hematoma is getting worse, and I am upset. I bought them a perfectly healthy dog. First oath should be do no harm, and if you cause the issue, fix it. My dog has never had a double ear infection or a hematoma - I am convinced the tooth extraction is causing the ongoing issue.

This place is getting worst by the minute!! I neglected to inform the receptionist at time of check in to have my cats nail clipped, I remembered as Ashley was checking me out (havent paid yet), and asked her..."I neglected to ask to have my cats nails at check in is there anyway of having them cut now?" Ashley didn't hesitate and said NO sorry. Like why though?! I'm still there, I havent paid, and she didn't even bother asking the tech!!This is not my only bad experience at this Banfield...the Banfield rep at this location is no help, they take the Banfield employees word over the customer's!!

Have been taking our 4-legged family members here since we had them. They are very nice. The girls at the desk treat our pups like they were their own! I love that they have a drop-off option as well as a typical appointment one, where you can drop your pet off in the morning and they can be examined at some point in the day. They call and go over any care options and then you can go pick up after!

Turned away my family and our dying dog because we weren’t patients!!! I was first met by a horrible girl who told me hold on I’m not even clocked in yet. I was standing there with my dying dog in my arms and crying children begging her to just ask if a doctor would see us my dog clearly suffering. She came out with a slip of paper and sorry nope. No words for my shock. We went to a clinic with a 6 hour wait and were brought in immediately by their doctor that’s how sick she was. Thank god for VCA of West Hartford they were amazing!!

Went here once to ask a question. The receptionist must have woke up with a chip on her shoulder. The majority of the staff are unfriendly and never have room for your pet. It should not take too much energy to be kind to people. If you deal with the public but hate your job, then find a new one.

They take great care of my dog. Mostly drop off appointments but if you are willing to wait you can get an in person appointment. The surgeon was great at explaining what they were going to do to my dog and all the testing

Please, if you care about your animals do not bring them here. Dr. Shannon is a great doctor but the front staff is just horrible. If you want a great day to turn into a bad day then come here.
