I've always gotten great service at the Plainville branch of Key Bank. Tellers are friendly and professional. I'm sorry to see that other people have run into issues with the bank. They have always been able to help me out.

This bank is terrible my Dad lives in Maine sent my disabled daughter a check for Christmas. I can't cash it through my account because of social security benefits rules as her payee so I went to key bank to cash the check and because I don't have an account there only my father who wrote the check does they wanted to charge me almost 30$ to cash the check. Thats how they treat their account holders who write out checks from their Key Bank account??? It truly is plain greedy on the banks part.My dad feels awful he had no idea .he lives on the beach miles from town where his key bank is located. He wants c to go get her a money order and resend it.He is elderly and should not have to go to the bank to write his grand child a check. He has a fair amount of money in Key Bank now he wants to switch banks.This is horrible customer service and taking advantage of their account holders.How do you justify charging so much to cash your customers check PLEASE explain. I opened an account during one of their promotions. The manager confirmed my info, even when I said, "Ok, so I have to use direct deposit to get at least $500 in the account within 60-days" He said yes. When I came back to ask him why my account hadn't been credited for the bonus, he said "You didn't do ONE direct deposit for $500.) Then he said he'd talk to higher ups because I had gotten the funds into the account. Of course, that never happened, even after 3 weeks of waiting, with no contact. The managers name is Jason and I will NEVER, and I do mean NEVER go there again. Well, the next time is on my 181st day from account opening, because when I tried to close my account last week, I was informed that it would cost me $25 in early closing fee. OF COURSE THERE IS! I can't say enough negative things about this financial institution.

They charge so many fees on top of other fees. "Customer Service" will hang up on you when they dont feel like handling something. Also, since English isn't their first language trying to explain something is next to impossible, and frankly they don't want to hear it anyways. I tried to give them a chance to also address a fraudulent charge on my account and they made it seem like it was my fault someone stole from me. I'm glad they made tons of money charging me insane fees. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

Horrible company. They completely botched their response to COVID-19 unemployment with the state of CT. If you've received a card from Key for your unemployment benefits with the state of CT, you can basically ignore the instructions it comes with. You can't set up an online account, because you don't have an account, except you do, because they have your name and SSN and a balance for you. Also, don't bother trying to talk to anyone through corporate customer service, you can't actually reach anyone. I spent an hour on hold and got no one. And you can't use the online chat, because you need to log into your account, which you don't have. I gave up and called a branch. Completely incompetent.

This bank is awful. I don't bank with them by choice, they purchased my loan from First Niagra Bank and since then have made it a living hell to service my account. It's been years and I just finally coerced my own account number out of them. Despite auto charging nearly 400 a month they would not provide me with the information. Not to mention their Call center is inexperienced. Contradicting themselves multiple times withing a ten minute conversation. I can promise you one thing: Bank with Key and you'll want to rip your hair out.

I use the KeyBank in Plainville on occasion as it's close to my job however I generally use the one located in Vernon. The one in Vernon has been nothing but spectacular however the Plainville location has been horrible on more than one occasion. I never post reviews, but after very literally spending half an hour just to deposit a check, I'm amazed at how bad this branch is. Two weeks ago I was charged six overdraft fees because my check, that I had believed to have cleared, didn't clear until midnight. I understand the need for an overdraft but one for each time I used my card that day is extremely excessive. I've been banking with KeyBank for a year and always have funds in my account. When asked if any of the charges could be removed I was told that they are unable to do so, which I know was a complete lie because I have friends in the banking industry and it's as easy as a click of the button. This branch makes me want to leave KeyBank all together. The worst customer service imaginable. Poor management.

While I had some issues at the bank when I have seen the Manager Ann she correct all the mistake immediately so yes I am totally happy. Thank you very much keep up the job. :-)

Have used First Niagara since I lived in Central NY. Always friendly staff, and locations are bright and clean. Been to the Plainville branch several times and have never had a negative experience.

I used this branch's ATM and ended up incurring additional 3.00 in fees on my account. The touch screen needs to be calibrated so when you press checking it actually goes to checking. My review is strictly on this experience at their ATM. Hopefully they are socially aware and fix it so their customers and other bank customers have a smoother experience.
