Hours: LiveWell is a support organization for people experiencing cognitive change and dementia. For over 30 years, it has innovated with people living with dementia who self-advocate and request different levels of resources. LiveWell provides classes, zoom memory cafe meetings, monthly meet ups at various museums and parks, periodic zoom meetings for caregivers, and therapy. A terrific occupational therapist came to a home and helped make it memory friendly and safe. LiveWell is opening a beautiful facility in Plantsville that will offer many group classes, therapy, and fun things to do as well as in-house care if needed. A geriatric doctor at UCONN recommended LiveWell to help with the struggles with dementia. The professionals have experience in cognitive and dementia issues and are knowledgeable and caring. A caregiver found a go-to place for help. One person was in the Memory Care Unit for 5 months before he passed. The nurses went above and beyond with their concern. A dear friend lived at LiveWell until she passed in May. The personnel who answer phone calls are the kindest, caring individuals. One mom attended the day program and enjoyed the music, playing the piano, and the meals. The staff was wonderful and caring, and the family learned a lot about caring for someone with dementia. Later, LiveWell helped transition her into skilled nursing. Now she is living in a safe, caring, and professional atmosphere where she feels loved. Another mom is a resident and is always comfortable. LiveWell comes strongly recommended.
