As antique lovers, my husband and I had planned three days, shopping at the July Brimfield Antique Show. They were interesting and unforgettable days, but long, hot and humid. Fox Hill Farm provided the perfect end to the day, with a relaxing evening on the deck, overlooking the meadow and pond. Nick was a wonderful, welcoming host and we learned to look forward to starting each day with his great breakfasts! Ask Nick about his special Orange Infused Pancakes! After several weeks of travel, the roomy cottage was a great "home base" for re-packing and re-grouping. The washer and dryer was especially appreciated. The surrounding Connecticut countryside is beautiful. From dawn to dusk, the cottage at Fox Hill Farm offers a landscape setting that's tranquil and restful, away from the heat and bustling noise of the day. Finally, don't miss Nick's recommendation of dinner at Grill 17. It was a delightful way for us to end our time in this lovely part of the country. We highly recommend a stay at Fox Hill Farm!Bob & Karen Boyd

This was my second time staying at The Inn At Fox Hill Farm, and it was as relaxing as the first. I was in town for a dog competition, and wanted to avoid a busy/possibly unsafe hotel atmosphere. I loved being surrounded by huge old trees, being the only guest, with a huge field and pond to walk around and relax. The Inn is like a small, charming apartment with a big comfortable bedroom, living room area and fully equipped kitchen attached to a walk out deck with a beautiful view. A mile down the road is a super cafe that serves delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner for those who don't want to cook, and I took full advantage of it this year! The place has a rustic, camp like atmosphere, which I prefer over hotels and urban settings. I am so thankful it was available this year when I needed it! Thank you Nick and Polly!

2nd year in a row that we choose this magical cottage for our anniversary retreat from the world. It is everything we always dreamed we would find. Quiet. Peaceful. Beautiful. Warmth. Charm. History. Clean. The innkeepers are the most gracious hosts. Nick's breakfasts are the best way to start each day. This year, we ventured out more to the surrounding historic sites, antique shops, restaurants, and nature hikes. It was a perfect bucolic New England getaway.

This is a nice two room suite in a cottage in rural Eastern Connecticut. It's near the charming towns of Woodstock, Pomfret and Putnam. The cottage is spacious with a large living room/kitchen and outdoor patio and a huge bedroom with great period antiques and a bed of wonders. The surroundings are peaceful and perfect. Pet the dogs, take a walk in the fields or just sit on the deck and relax. The host is delightful and the breakfast is delicious and timed to your desire, There are an abundance of things to do to in the neighborhood such as a visit to Roseland Cottage or 1/4 Midget racing on Sundays at Little T Speedway in Thompson. I can't say enough about how nice it is to stay here.

The magnificent views from the suite's private deck, bring to mind paintings by Monet. I sat in early morning with coffee and watched hummingbirds as the mist burned off the pond. The suite has everything you need and what you didn't know you needed. One of the Inn's owners, Nick, prepared us a you choose it gourmet breakfast both mornings. We asked for French toast and it was outstanding! We had a fabulous 26th anniversary weekend getaway.

We had a weekend "escape" from our home in the NYC suburbs. The cottage is lovely and conductive to relaxing. It was larger than we expected - a large bedroom, a living room, a full kitchen, large bathroom with shower/tub, and an outdoor balcony with a beautiful serene view of a small lake. We saw lots of birds from the balcony, and a small rabbit hopping through the grass. An added bonus was the delicious full breakfast cooked and delivered by Nick, the Innkeeper. There were also lots of snacks and drinks provided for us to enjoy. There were plush towels as well as several amenities in the bathroom in case we left any toiletries at home. There were several restaurants in the area which we enjoyed (Vanilla Bean Cafe, Black Dog Bar & Grille, and Elizabeth's Farmhouse). If we are in the area again, we would absolutely return to the Inn at Fox Hill Farm.

Lovely location with deck overlooking a lake. Cottage is comfortable with well-stocked kitchen (snacks, coffee, kitchen equipment). That said, most other reviews and the website don’t make it clear that the very kind owners live on the other side of a door in the cottage’s living room. We stayed 2 nights and had a couple of unexpected knocks on the door and saw the owners in the yard. Depending on your need for alone time and privacy this setup may be suboptimal.

I would provide a 10 if possible. We needed place to stay for a few days. The Inn at Fox Hill Farm was perfect and incredible. When we said we didn't need breakfast everyday, they offered dinner instead (which was wonderful!). They offered to help with some local transportation. Cannot say enough wonderful thinks here. . . . highly recommend.
