Location was great but that's it. Beds were stained with a ton of old blood. Toilet paper dispenser ripped outta the wall. Very inconveniently interrupted twice between fire alarms going off, and them wanting to do inspections which should of been done long ago. Not to mention the power goes off and on multiple times. Not worth any money unless you are desperate. Don't stay here.

This place was extremity quiet, which I loved. I didn't have to hear people getting on and on an elevator. Talking loud in the halls, or kids running up and down the aisles. Very clean and simple. I rather spend my money on the local food and activities. This place is a gem. Will come back.

Original review January 2023: An inexpensive and comfy little spot that was very cutely decorated. Cozy like a little vacation cabin and located right across the street from a nice breakfast spot and down the street from the venue for the wedding we attended. It's nothing fancy, but it doesn't need to be. We didn't end up needing any help from the front desk, but they were clearly available in case we did need anything.Update August 2023: Clearly this place made a good enough impression that we came back! While we're pretty sure we picked the same room type as our last trip, this time we got little suites with a separated bedroom and little living area. We were surprised, but certainly not upset about it. This place is a funny mix between a motel and an Air B&B in terms of style. The owners are clearly trying to make the rooms look bougie on a budget and it's working pretty well. This place is also definitely used as longer term housing for some folks and the check in paperwork makes that obvious. All in all, the Hilton this is not but it's still a perfectly nice place to stay.

This is not a place where you want to stay more than a night or two. When you walk into the lobby you are overwhelmed by the smell of STRONG cleaning products. In order to check in you have to call a number and someone from another building comes down. We booked using Expedia so the room was paid for 100% but they ended up charging us again which they did refund and the money was back on our card. We went to the room and honestly it wasn’t terrible. The beds were comfortable. The pillows ehhhh I’m very particular about pillows so I didn’t like them but my husband didn’t mind. So if you are particular about the sort of pillow you sleep on just bring your own otherwise you’ll be fine. The room NEEDS some sort of area rug. The laminate floor looks nice but it’s not comfortable to walk on barefoot. Also check your windows cause they all were unlocked. Bathroom was clean nothing special. Our biggest complaint was the door coming into the room it was literally impossible to open the door. We tried a good 5 minutes and were almost ready to call that number again but we finally got it. One things we found very unsettling is the main door into the building is always open for ANYONE to come in from the street at any given time and there is no one at the front desk for security which is why we probably will not stay here again. But if you need a place to stay for a night or two this will meet the bill

While the service was OK, the room was ok. The bed, however, had a stain. There were people milling around outside and my son, who came in for business, did not feel safe. He prepaid for 4 nights but refused to stay. He had to rent another place ~ after paying $690.00. When he tried to return the key at the front desk, no one was there to speak to him about a possible credit. After speaking to my husband, I was made aware of the fact that people actually live there and my son felt like they were 'keeping an eye' on him because he was not a 'resident' there.Would I recommend this for a traveler on business or for a vacation? No. But if you have to live there for some reason ~ Yes.Safety: CreepyAround the door you can clearly see outside.

First I found it very low class when I arrived. 2nd, when I checked in and went to my room, it was a king size bed when I reserved 2 queens over the phone. 3rd, you could see I had 1 room on my reservation slip and they scratched it out and gave me a different room with only 1 bed…they would/could not give me the room I reserved in advance. 4th, maybe a coincidence but when I booked my room over the phone, I had a fraudulent charge on my card the next day. 5th, when checking in, they photocopied my credit card and license. Not having my room was a blessing in disguise, they refunded me and I demanded the photocopies of my information. Ended up staying at a much nicer place 15mins away.

If I could rate this zero stars I would. Checked into the hotel and instantly the smell of cigarettes and weed within the building was overwhelming. When I got to the room again the smell was there and was intense especially in the bathroom. So much for “non smoking”. Besides the smell the room didn’t look clean. The first 3 days in the room it was never cleaned or had someone ask for it to be cleaned. I also started noticing my husband and myself were getting reactions to something. Upon further inspection of the bed we realized there were bugs as well as on the chair by the bed same thing. They were bed bugs. We went to the front to ask for at minimum a new room or have someone come in and clean this since we didn’t have the time nor money to spend on another hotel since we had booked this for a week. The staff member had just told us that he could give us new towels and have someone come by the next day to clean the room. We weren’t able to stay the rest of the time due to the bed bug situation. Absolutely unacceptable and would NEVER recommend to anybody.

Solano Inn was a surprise in the middle of CT: super clean, super quiet, newly renovated with Ikea furnishings. A landscape crew worked hard for days while we were there: the grounds are lovely.(To the owners: Los zombis no dicen “Bienvenidos a Solano!” No más zombis en TV ?)

Also have been without hot water, my ac leaked so bad that my room flooded and flooded the room below me after telling them Idk how many times that it NEEDED to be fixed!!! Finally was when Brian and Jorge came back, which was about a year of complaining every time it rained about my room flooding!!! Now trying to catch up on rent, half the money isn't good enough and then they wanna lock me out when I'm a tenant!

First, I got a great price on the room, so my expectations were in line. And the staff was really nice. The location was great to get to Middletown (10 min). Our room was big and the beds were comfy. However, I offer a couple of areas for improvement for my particular (room #52). There were a few things were severely lacking, particularly with room cleanliness. They were:- used dental floss on floor- used tissues in the shower- pill bottle on the top shelf of the closet- water damage/paint peeling from ceiling- spider webs on the window- room full of stink bugs (at least that's what I called then as a child), we caught six upon arrival and then watched a few more appear during our 2-night stay- windows were open and missing screens (however bugs still appeared even after windows were closed and secured)- the vent in the bathroom was hanging from the ceilingpix attachedAlso, while coffee and sugar were provided (thx!), they were in small Ziplock bags. A little bit disconcerting for a guest that doesn't know who prepared the bags. I would suggest using pre-sealed coffee/sugar/etc.Finally, the room was quite large, but didn't have a lot of furniture. No dressers for clothes, no suitcase stand for a bag. So you had to put everything on the floor.I don't know the background of the place, but felt like it was a family operation that was trying, but might be a little overwhelmed/understaffed/underfinanced. Maybe the room we were in just got missed for cleaning? For what its worth, my in-laws stayed in Room #54, a King room that was clean, well appointed and lovely.So.....with a little work, all should be well with this place.

Very surprised at how great the room was. Very clean, bright and comfy. Smelled great with amazing amenities. The check in/check out process was very confusing and rarely was anyone at the desk. Otherwise

The rooms are amazingly updated...airy w many functioning windows that open. Quiet, and beyond clean. If ever a hotel surprised me with its detail...Solano Inn has. Worth driving off 91 to find this quaint spot. No disappointments on any level!!

I stayed here to support the local community, BIG mistake. The room that I got was clean.... but right next to the road. I had dreams of cars flying off of the road and crashing into my room. Lots of road noise and car lights coming into the room. One night I had no "HOT WATER" for my shower. I had to contact the management to get the water fixed and they actually forgot about my issue. I did get hot water shortly after the sun went down. The windows had window AC units in them, not completely closed off, luckily it was too cold for mosquitoes. My room had no coffee machine/pot in it?I was here for a full week, I would only recommend this place for a one night stay. The local say that this place was a total dump in the past but then cleaned up by new owners. I believe that there are many regulars that stay there.BatesX3 from Kansas City will not stay here again.
