Had a great 1st appointment with Eva! She listened thoroughly, gave the best head massage and explained every step of the cut. She nailed everything I asked for, will be back!!

Showed a very clear inspiration photo of a butterfly cut — lots of volume, bold face-framing layers, and shape. What I got was a much softer, overly blended version that didn’t reflect what I asked for. My hair looks okay, but it’s not the style I came in for.

What hurts most is that I grew my hair out just to get this cut — and now I’m left with something basic and safe, the kind of haircut I could’ve gotten elsewhere for much less. I paid for a senior stylist hoping for skill and confidence with bold layering, but it ended up feeling like another “one-size-fits-all” American salon experience, charging $$$ for something generic.
Not a bad salon, but if you’re looking for trendy, sculpted cuts— be cautious.
To the owner - The hair stylist showed me the haircut after blow drying and styling it and she didn’t seem like a warm person either! she wouldn’t even smile, which made the whole experience feel closed off and uncomfortable.

Excellent and friendyl! Great group in there. You are greeted and directed to the chair for a consult, and then, you walk out with a wonderful haircut!

Since moving to Ridgefield, I have been to several salons and tried different hairdressers. Lori is by far the only one who does my hair the way I like. She is personable, intelligent, and warm. Whip salon has a welcoming atmosphere and I would recommend it to others.

Went to Eva for a first time highlight. I have to say I am very unhappy with how my hair came out. I showed a inspo picture and specified I wanted cool tones over warm. My hair is very warm. There are bleeds all over. She left the toner on for maybe 2-3 minutes. I chose the salon based off reviews, but I am throughly disappointed. I drove over a hour to get my hair done and am leaving for Europe I a week. I have reached out to the salon requesting a refund as I cannot go back in for a redo, and don’t want my hair messed up even further. For the prices they charge, the services should be top notch and hair bleeds should not be happening. I suggest you look elsewhere for services.

Hi Amy,
I wanted to respond to your response. I came back to the salon because I was happy with how Eva did my up do, and I drove a hour for services. Regarding your response- they wouldn’t let me leave with those issues- they did not get close to my hair, and I can send pictures to show the bleeds and color of highlights. Im not a difficult person.
I was at the salon for 3.5 hours and had a graduation party to go to over a hour away from the salon. I couldn’t have stayed a couple more hours. I didn’t notice the bleeds and highlight color being more orange in my hair until I looked more closely in the mirror in my car.
I also did not want to say I didn’t like it in front of her and other clients as that would be awkward, and I’m not a confrontational person. I was not refunded the full amount so I will contact my credit card company.

Makenzie did an amazing job cutting my hair! It was my first time at this salon so i only got a haircut however, she made me feel so comfortable and was so knowledgeable! I will be coming back to her for color!! Highly recommend Makenzie

I had such a positive experience with Lori at Whip Salon in Ridgefield. Booking online was super easy, they were right on time, and the space was clean, stylish, and had a great energy for a Sunday—fully staffed, busy but not chaotic, and everyone was warm and welcoming.
Lori was kind, attentive, and really listened to what I wanted. We got started right away, and the conversation flowed so naturally—I felt totally at ease. I’ve been cutting my own hair to avoid the hassle of an underwhelming (and overpriced) salon visit, but this was the total opposite. Pricing felt more than fair for the quality, and the results were exactly what I hoped for and some. She’s the best.
I live in NYC and will absolutely be coming back to see Lori again.

My first visit to Whip was ideal. I was greeted with a welcoming smile and offered a beverage. I was promptly escorted to my station and Eva took time toninderstandnwhatninwasnlookong for and got right to work. The product was exactly what I envisioned! I left that appointment making 4 additional appointments!

My first time at Whip a few years ago was wonderful. The second time a few months ago left a lot to be desired. My stylist did a perfectly fine job, but she never checked with me on the length so it ended up being longer than I wanted. Every time I've had my hair cut, the stylist will start cutting and then check to make sure it's the correct length, but this one just finished the entire cut in one go.
The main issue is that I returned to fix the length and they set me up with a master stylist. This person did a horrible job cutting. The two sides were asymmetrical and she gave me face framing I didn't want. Even worse, when she blew out my hair, she brought the blow dryer so close to my scalp and for so long it was painful and left me with some mild burns. I don't know how many times I've had my hair blown dry in my life, and this has NEVER happened to me before.

My Daughter, Carly went in yesterday for an Updo for Senior Prom. The atmosphere was professional & friendly. Updo was quick, no hair pulling, the stylist did not use an insane amount of hairspray and my daughter's hair looked phenomenal. My daughter also reports that she did not get a headache from her hair being up/or too tight. My daughter got many compliments on her gorgeous yet simple Updo design. I forgot the name of the stylist but she was awesome! Will be using this salon in the future. Highly recommend!

Lori has cut and styled my hair several times. Somehow she has the ability to read my mind as I’m trying to describe a new hair style for myself. She listens patiently, takes the necessary time while guiding me with her enterprise to fulfill my expectations. I’m alway beyond satisfied with the results. She truly is a Master Stylist!!
