“As many times as I drove down this road.I never realized that they had such a beautiful trail right here. I happened to find the trail when I was browsing the all trails app so there is a map on it. You will walk between a beautiful set of tall pine trees. It's such a peaceful and beautiful trail and it's very easy. Mostly flat. There's also a small pond in the back. There is also a big parking lot for this trail.”

“I was pleasantly surprised by how fantastic this store looked for a second-hand store. It's so great to have a Restore in this area and giving back to the community. Kudos to Management for such a great job!”

“The Connecticut Street Rod Association (AKA the CSRA) was founded in 1967 by a group of (then) young men who had a mutual love of building and driving their street rods, or hot rods, if you will. That grew and evolved over the years since, to what the CSRA is today. Many of those same young men and many others who have joined the group have aged and matured, but their love of building and driving cars with potent engines hasn't diminished. The Association long ago joined the American Street Rod Association, and now not only gives the guys AND gals with hot rods a venue to meet and share their hobby, but those folks put on several shows a year, to showcase their cars and others that have restored muscle cars, drag race cars, and hot rods. They very generously donate a lot of time and money to local causes and charities. That money is from the very modest entrance fees at their various shows during the year. The Association also sponsors two very large automotive swap meets each spring and fall, with some portion of the entrance fees donated to those same various charitable organizations. Once a year in June, they organize a very large car show called The Connecticut Dragway Nostalgia Night, celebrating the now defunct drag strip by that name. Here again, the proceeds go to local charities. The highlight of the evening is the "cackle fest", where those old drag race cars are fired up, and rev their engines to the delight of the crowd, who have to plug their ears from the loud exhaust noise. It's a great time, enjoyed by all, and always a great bargain in entertainment at $5.00 per spectator. Participants are ASKED for a $5.00 donation, but it's not required. That former drag strip is now owned and operated by Consumer Reports, to test vehicles. For more information on all their activities, check their website, www.csra.org”

“Such a wonderful place. Nice staff. Two great pools. They run amazing affordable summer camps both on site and in Portland. Swim lessons are great. The reputable preschool with incredible teachers (go Susie!) has its own cook. They run Kids Korner afterschool programs in nearby towns like Cromwell. As a full time working mom, I don’t know what I would do without this Y. They enable my quality of life.”

“Nice place, lovely people work there, but one man that works there is going to cause them money because he's not a very nice person. He doesn't speak kindly of any of the things that sell there. To him it's garbage.”

“This review comes from my heart.. I am a partially disabled air force vet. Since the covid 19 struck i have had the worst luck you can imagine. I am 61 years old and have led my life with integrity!!!! I was laid off from my job over 6 months ago. I have no money at all. I was being evicted from my apartment and have no one to turn to for help. I am not used to asking for help. 211 referred me to Unite CT.. This is where I met Sherese. She is such an amazing person. Sherese takes her job very seriously!. She cares so much about helping people. Without her i would be homeless now. I insisted on thanking her publicly. She deserves all the kudos in the world. I just cant thank her enough. Now i understand why she is the supervisor. I wish i could do more for her. Thanks to Sherese i have a roof over my head tonight!!!!!!”

“Hands down one of the best shelters in the area in my opinion. We adopted a cat from there 3 years ago and it was the best decision we could have made. While other shelters turned us away or couldn't get back to us for weeks & months at a time they contacted us right away. The shelter itself was very clean and the animals were clearly kept up on. The adoption fees are absolutely reasonable and ensure they can help countless other animals that truly need it . The staff members are genuinely caring and are very thorough when making sure the animals get the best quality care and match for potential adopters. They want to make sure that no one has ill intentions or will be neglectful. They also host several community events and fundraisers all year long. I recommend them any chance I get :)”

“I really enjoy the gym here. It’s always a friendly, family oriented environment. I tried the S.W.E.A.T CLASS for the first time and I loved every moment. It’s intense and a full body experience. You will definitely sweat! Agnes is no joke! She’s super helpful and guides everyone in her class as a group and if you need help, she’s always aware. Try it!”
