Great staff! Attentive, friendly, accomodsting, always remember who I am & more. This is a modern veterinary practice with a small town feeling. They know & greet my dog &/or cats as well as me with smiles/concern appropriate to the situation and make me feel they are happy to see us even if things aren't great. Every time I'm there, I see all the pet patients (and their humans) treated like this. They are knowledgeable abouut the veterinary field. They listen carefully and are often able to guide me . I like that the "front office staff" aren't only receptionists, but knowledgeable about the veterinary field and know what questions to ask to make sure the appropriate time is scheduled & thst the doctor has the best information possible before seeing us. They are great at easing fears, boosting spirits, consoling patient & owner and more.I'm always impressed that when the doctors or technicians walk into the exam room, they give me a quick hello, then immediately focus on whomever I'm bringing in that day. They take the time necessary to be sure they have a good amount of time for observation & hands on time as well as listening carefully to my concerns and the information I give them is respected. The facility is always neat & clean and privacy is respected. I have used Salem Valley Veterinary since they opened, and despite the expected staff changes over time (20 or so years worth) the quality of services is still excellent. I highly recommend them and hope that you will take the time to develop a solid relationship with the staff as it only helps us both to give our precious companions the best life we can.

We followed Dr. Hunt to this practice and transferred our records. They were filling our dogs prescriptions and then suddenly stopped! We made three calls. Two went unanswered and the third, a woman who identified as the office manager, answered the phone. She told us that our dogs are not patients and not only would they not fill any further prescriptions but that they are not taking new patients. Our dogs are on meds that they need for the rest of their lives and now we are scrambling to get our dogs what they need. Our recommendation ... do not waste your time with this practice!

Cannot recommend enough. My cat had quite a complicated issue going on with his mouth. Every staff member I came encounter with made me feel at ease, and that my cat was safe by keeping me up dated throughout the day.

My Sphynx cat Archibald was attacked by a dog, which resulted in a fractured jaw. Pieper Memorial sent us to Salem Valley and said they were the best of the best to fix our sweet cat. The staff was AMAZING, so attentive and caring. Archie was in and out of surgery so fast. They sent us detailed directions for his recovery. On our way home they called us immediately to make sure he got home okay. I could go on and on about how amazing they are. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Dr. Slater is the best, very caring and compassionate. We have been bringing our dogs here for over 10 years.

We're not regulars at the clinic because I go back to MA for the vet. At our most recent visit, our vet said my senior dog didn't have long left and he seemed fine so we took him home. We got to say our good byes before things turned for the worse. With the pandemic, I didn't want to drive back to MA the same week so I called around here. Salem Valley was the most reasonable with their fees and service. Another vet clinic wanted an extra visit, all medical files forwarded and extra fees before they will put him down. I understand the reasoning behind that but it was too much for me to handle at the time. We were able to get an appointment and everything was handled professionally. Unfortunately, euthanasia had to be done outside and they had a nice secluded lawn area in the back (versus in your car in a parking lot). It was for the best - by fur baby got to enjoy some fresh air before he made his way to the rainbow bridge.

Horrible. Neglected my pup and he passed

Their negligence killed my 11 month old golden. They also misdiagnosed him when he was 4 months old. I Should've known then. These reviews are only good bc of the owner who is reputable, the other doctors you get now are a joke and have their techs just do everything for them. Thanks for killing my dog!

This place is terrible. Yes everyone is "nice" and it's clean but that's about it. The medical knowledge, maintenance and thoroughness in exams is horrible. These doctors are a joke. They have misdiagnosed my German on multiple things. My poor dog had Lyme disease for a YEAR. I kept bringing her back and they kept telling me it's just growth spurts and that's why she's limping. My friends dog died because of their negligence as well. If there's nothing wrong with your dog sure they're great to grab your money for simple vaccine and tell you to have a nice day and you think oh what a nice place. You don't know if a doctor is good until you have a problem. And these doctors are a big JOKE.

Staff is amazing. They treat your fur babies as if they were there own. There always available.
