Dr. Cervantes was great to deal with but whoever is running the office needs help. On 2 separate occasions, I waited over 90 minutes in the exam room to see the doctor, only to have to reschedule because he was dealing with an emergency. I get it, but it would have been nice to have someone in the office let me know so I could make a decision to stay or reschedule. On another occasion, it took me 3 days and many calls to the office to get me prescriptions sent to Walgreens. Walgreens blamed the office, and the office blamed Walgreens. It still took 3 days to sort out and for me to get my meds. Lastly, billing on my account is all screwed up so we have to invest more time to get my payments reflected correctly.

I had LASIK done recently and I’m so glad I did. Incredible results!! And the procedure was super easy and painless. Recovery was easier than expected too. Just had to follow their simple instructions. Anyone can do it! Highly recommend!!!! Dr Cervantes and his staff are super kind, easy going and totally helpful and accommodating. So glad I trusted them with this procedure. Thanks a million ???????

Highly recommended! I was SO nervous about eye surgery, but Dr. Cervantes and his team made me feel so comfortable and cared for. It's never an easy choice to go under the knife, especially out of pocket, but the difference only a month in is already worth it. I am so excited for a life without glasses and contacts!

LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE: Lasik has been something I thought about for several years and when I was finally ready I search for credible places and found CT Eye Specialists. Their website contained important information regarding the doctors which convinced me to call and move forward with the process. Long story short, Dr. Cervantes and his team were fantastic. It has been 7 months since I had Lasik done and I am truly at a loss for words. I cannot thank him and his team enough for their stunning service and for how much it has made my life better. I would highly recommend him and his great team. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

If anyone needs an eye doctor/surgeon I definitely recommend Dr. Cervantes and his team at CT Eye Specialist. I found them from a google search for best LASIK surgeons in CT. They live up to the reviews. The staff is friendly and comforting and Dr. Cervantes honors his reputation as an award winning eye surgeon. There is no general anesthesia while performing eye surgery to keep cost and risk associated with general anesthetics down. Since you are fully conscious throughout the surgery, the part I appreciated most was his bedside manner while actually performing the procedure. The OR had 4 people in it. Me, the doc, and two of his staff. He played my favorite genre of music, had me take a valium 30 minutes prior to surgery and was talking me through what he was about to do next the whole time. While going through the process he and his assistants were talking to me about movies, music, and the recent storm we had. I tensed up a couple times and they would remind me to relax my body and take a few breaths. While keeping the mood light and me relaxed he triple checked his calculations by confirming the settings of the laser out loud with his staff and verifying the adjustments. Now, I’ve always been very squeamish when it comes to my eyes. That’s why I never attempted contacts. I even had trouble using eye drops, I would flinch every time I went to use them. I won’t lie, the procedure is not the most comfortable you will be in your life but I can’t imagine any other team making it any more comfortable than CT Eye Specialist. That being said, it is a painless procedure. Your vision goes blurry, you feel pressure on your eye, but I never once felt any pain. If you have corrective eye surgery on your mind you should definitely take them up on their free consultation. They will let you know if you are a candidate and answer any and every question you have. If I who can’t even use eye drops before this can get through the procedure I’m sure anyone can. I remember hearing Nothing Else Matters, Bohemian Rhapsody, Seven Nation Army and Scar Tissue playing and then the procedure was done. That’s about 20 minutes of music, so it took about 10 minutes an eye. Most of that time is the prep, drops, keeping the eye lid open etc. The actual laser part is no longer than 15 seconds. You just stare at the green light and let the doc and the laser do their thing. He sends you home with drops and instructions on taking them. Tells you to take a nap if at all possible and keep your eyes closed as much as possible. I followed the drops instructions. Slept the day away. When I woke up my eye had slight discomfort, as if I went swimming in a pool with chlorine with my eyes open for a bit. But nothing unbearable at all. After using the drops some more and a few more hours I couldn’t even tell I had eye surgery… other than the fact that I can see every detail around me. I went from 20/80 vision.. or 80/20 is it? Hey I’m not the eye doctor here.. to 20/20 in the matter of a 20 minute procedure. As I said I never used contacts, I had glasses for about a week and never really used them. So it’s pretty mind blowing to see all these details that were just a blur to me for 30 years of my life. Did a post op follow up today and the doctor reassured me my eyes are healing as best as possible. The most surprising part for me is the post op recovery, I watched videos and read other people’s experiences with other doctors and I was expecting a lot more pain and discomfort for up to a month after surgery. But that is not the case, again I wouldn’t know I had surgery if I wasn’t seeing so well. Absolutely no pain or discomfort. You can trust Dr. Cervantes and his steady hands and expertise to give you amazing results.Those are tears of joy in the picture.

I spoke with medical office assistant for take an appointment for lasik consultation and she told me she has an apointment until end of September. When I told her do you have appointment sooner she said no I told her thank you i cant wait she said ok and laughed at me then hang out .this is unprofessional and so rude from her to laugh at patients poor service .

This a review coming from 3 months post-Lasik. Doctor Cervantes came highly recommended by one of my peers. I went to Dr. Cervantes following an initial visit with a different doctor (who did not seem very enthusiastic about his job, and his technicians did not know how to use some of the testing equipment). As someone who cares for his eyes, I needed a second opinion before jumping into something this big. Doctor Cervantes' office was the complete opposite, and they were using more up-to-date equipment. Needless to say, I was glad I went in search of a second opinion.The doctor and his team answered all of my questions and were very patient and careful with their analysis and, ultimately, their surgical work. Surgery was just as imagined, but with their professionalism, I felt like I was in good hands.As someone who had pretty bad vision, Lasik surgery with this team was transformative, and 3 months later my dryness has mostly gone away, and my vision is more or less stable. I have recommended, and will continue to recommend, Dr. Cervantes to my friends who wish to go through with this procedure.

Just had my second cataract surgery and wishing I did it earlier.Dr. Cervantes is no doubt the coolest ,most personable and genuinely caring doctor.I would highly recommend going to CT Eye Specialist for any of your eye needs.What a great team of people.They truly care and are so personable and professional.
