Went there today. Bought a jockey and a few things. Traveled 2 hours from Long Island. The lady couldn’t be nicer. She recommended a nice diner 5 minutes away which was excellent. We spent the day in the area. Very relaxing. Could not be happier. Sorry don’t remember her name but she was lovely. No pressure. 5 out of 5

I can't say enough about the outstanding experiences I've had with Nicky's Attic! Their range of services, including estate sales, cleanouts, repairs, and more, is truly invaluable. What sets them apart is their incredible staff who not only possess an extensive knowledge of pricing items but also approach their work with a deep understanding of the emotional challenges clients may be facing during such transitions. What's more, they have a fantastic retail store in the Conti Building at 415 Howe Ave in Shelton, Connecticut. It's a hidden treasure where they liquidate estate sale leftovers and even offer consignment options. Every visit to their store leaves me thoroughly impressed with their selection, and I always walk out with several bags of unique and exciting finds.I wholeheartedly recommend Nicky's Attic to anyone in Connecticut, New York, or Massachusetts who needs help with liquidating items or preparing a property for sale. Their reliability and trustworthiness are unmatched, and I have no doubt that your friends and family will be just as delighted with their services as I have been. Nicky's Attic is a true gem in the industry!

We were at their estate sale this morning and several items that 'em were featured in their photos WERE NOT FOR SALE one of which was why we drove that far. Won't do it again

My first time at a NICKY'S ATTIC Estate Sale in Pomfret CT! What a DELIGHT the sale was, so Eclectic! Both husband and wife (Margo) are a JOY to work with. Very FUN Personalities and MOST especially very FAIR Prices. I felt the prices were very fair and I had no desire to bargain with them because the prices were right on! I would LOVE to follow them around to all their estate sales and perhaps go visit them In Shelton CT at their building.I very highly recommend this VERY PROFESSIONAL TEAM! They work very well together! BRAVO

Terrible...terrible...terrible. Will never come to another estate sale run by these folks. It's really too bad because the women that were there seem very nice but the guy is a complete j**** Very over priced. Made us stand there while he checked the prices for each item we wanted to buy on Ebay. We had heard negative things about this company but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt...but what people said was right on point. Save yourself the time and skip these sales until the ladies are in charge. Seems to be a lot of reviews that say the same exact thing...rude and over priced. We would give 0 stars if we could!

I left a full review on google. If you would like to see just how arrogant this dealer is read my review and then read his remarks. So not only is he arrogant he is also a liar. After he told me $350 I never said counter offered anything because what he wanted was extremely high. He put in his response I offered him $50 first lie. There was nothing I picked out that was in great condition. He put up a list of items that was not what I had. He also stated that he video taped me??? How strange is that?He said he would post the video online. If he was talking a video of me then he takes a video of everybody. I stood there while he looked at my few items not saying a word. I invite this arrogant man to post a video of me. I am sure he can't because he is a liar. Read his other reviews I do not stand alone on his arrogance and price. Don't waste your time with his estate sales Buyer Beware!!!

Worst estate sale experience to date. Unorganized, nothing priced, estate sale owners still setting up at time of sale and family was taking things as everyone waited outside prior to the sale opening... so those things you saw in the ad and drove an hour plus for were no longer for sale when the doors finally opened. I have no problem with families taking what they want, they should have the opportunity. However, we are talking filling their cars, trucks and trailers, so the sale contents resembled nothing like the photons online. The prices I did overhear were full retail and more. Just confusing and chaotic. Don't waste your gas...if this was my first time experiencing an estate sale I would be turned off for life.

I’ve been going to estate sales run by Nickys attic for years now. I’ve never had a bad experience, always left with some treasures, and no matter how busy the staff was I’ve also always left after a good conversation. This is a company I can and have recommended to both sellers and buyers which is incredibly hard to do in this business! I was floored after attending one of their sales today to hear someone left them a bad review because they wouldn’t take a ridiculous offer on a pile of items. I see these people at sales all the time, no matter how cheap or how good of a deal it is, it’s Just not good enough, they have to argue till they get a few more dollars off while everyone else has to wait in an ever growing line and listen to them cry that they’re being charged more than they think they should be. I’d imagine on average there’s 4-500 people that go through these estate sales in a weekend and if you can keep 398-498 of them happy, I’d say you’re doing a pretty darn good job! I’m taking this time out of my life to start an account with google just so I can leave a review for a business I frequent because after speaking with a very pleasant client that hired this business and was upset that some cheapskate took time out of their life to complain about a business that was simply doing their job the way they’re supposed to do it. I’m already looking forward to the next Nickys Attic sale! Just not the cheapskate crybabies that will inevitably be there as well

Very disappointing, everything was way over priced. Staff was rude and hostile. Honestly felt like an elder abuse scam against the property owner.Warning: Owner will attack anyone who writes a bad review. Even weeks later for no apparent reason.

Unreasonably high prices, hostel operators. When the good stuff is still hanging around late on a Sunday you know something’s wrong.

Nicky's Attic also runs estate liquidation sales. My husband's elderly cousin lives in Texas and asked us to help her sell items in her CT deceased brothers house. We have been very successful and sent her every penny. When Margo and her husband came to assess the items in the house my husband informed them he was selling items for his cousin. We graciously showed them items throughout the house and they seemed very eager to contract. My husband had sold some items and loaded them onto our trailer to take to our home as it was easier than having to drive 1/2 hour back to his deceased cousin's house for people to pick up items. When his cousin in Texas read a BBB complaint against Nicky's Attic and then questioned Margo she told her we were STEALING items from the house! Margo also wanted to charge her 50% for the items she would sell.

So bummed. Drove 2 hours for a sale that looked fun. My girlfriend and I Filled bags of stuff, and the price he gave was absurd. Half of the stuff was unmarked and not worth a fraction of the price he gave. He claims to be knowledgeable, but didn't have answers of justification on why things were priced so high. A lot of the time the people that attend these sales are resellers and have knowledge of the items they seek and their worth. I watched him interact with other customers, and they were absolutely stunned at his prices as well. Estate sales should be a place where people get deals on items, not get ripped off. For anyone reading this review, you've been warned. Don't bother waking up early to get on the list. We did, and will not make the mistake again.
