I stopped into The UPS store on Bridgeport Ave Shelton to drop off a Verizon cellphone and two small Amazon items. I was greeted by a young man at the counter and I handed over my items and started pulling up QR Codes to scan. My cellphone wasn’t connecting to the Amazon site quickly and I apologized profusely for making the young man stand there. After the last QR code was scanned, the kid told me with returns like Amazon, I need to be prepared because I hold up the line.
There was no one there other than a woman that literally dropped something off and immediately left.
There were three people working.
This was 10am in a Wednesday.
I explained to the young man that I was trying to pull up the QR Codes as quickly as possible and there was t a very good signal for whatever reason. He doubled down and told me I need to be prepared.
I was in and out of the store in under 4 minutes. I guess I am just not fast enough for The UPS Store on Bridgeport Ave.

Not accepting spectrum equipment. Accepting every other package but told me to go 20 miles away to a different store because "they're remodeling" . They took every amazon return though.

Incredibly disappointed with this location. Terrible experience on April 3rd , 2024 at around 5:50 PM. Horrible customer service and rudeness at its finest. Was not treated with respect by one of the workers here and I hope it isn’t because of race because that would be despicable.
If I can give a rating of rocks instead of stars I would. Over 70 transactions with UPS and as someone who brings business to UPS, I never encountered a worker like the one I dealt with at this store.
Customer Service at its weakest and needs training and reprimanding when dealing with the general public and especially with an individual that brings business on a continuous basis.
Customer service is about serving clients and focusing on retention for the business you work for.
This individual who worked there clearly made it about himself and forgot he works for UPS and represented UPS in a very negative light.
While a store is within business hours , it is imperative , to provide unique experiences and not ones that sabotage clients intentionally.

I’m glad it wasn’t based on race. I stated I hope it wasn’t and didn’t say it was definitively.
I walked through those doors before 6 PM, and it wasn’t after the store closed. That’s a lie to say that I walked in after the store closed.
I was rang up for a shipping box for a sneaker box at almost $25.00 with no explanation until I asked. This is what irritated me. No breakdown of that charge until I asked because 25.00 for a sneaker shipping box didn’t seem right, so I questioned it. Maybe prices have changed , and you have a different policy than other stores. I went to a different UPS store today and that box was under 5 dollars instead of the 9 dollars I paid at this store. I paid anyway just for the box to tape myself so I wasn’t paying an additional 15 bucks.
And they even thought it was ridiculous to charge someone almost an additional 15 dollars after having a paid shipping label.
I was disappointed because it doesn’t take very long to tape a box up for one pair of sneakers. So I was disappointed the driver couldn’t wait 3 to 4 minutes. And I understand , but that was very disappointing considering the type of day I already had.
The true disappointment came from how service was executed. Plain and simple. Judging by your response , the lack of professionalism continues.

And I said I understand why the driver couldn’t wait. I was just disappointed that I couldn’t get my package on the truck but I said I understand in my last response.
Feeling disappointed is the result of not making it in time. It wasn’t something for me to be happy about , and I wasn’t trying to delay other packages from getting to their destination on time. I didn’t call because Google said store hours are until 6 PM.
I also said I’m glad it wasn’t based on race in my last response and you continue to say that I’m basing my responses off race. You said it wasn’t race and I believe you.
I’m not attacking character. I’m referring strictly to service and I am not critiquing no other individuals in the store. I’m only referring to the one individual that rang me up. In fact , there was a younger gentleman who showed courtesy by interacting politely.
I'm not discrediting nothing about the 20 years you have been in business. I did see reviews of others who experienced rudeness here though.
But thank you for wishing me well with my business - I can say that truthfully and I will also wish you success to the next 20 years and beyond of your business too.

Amarley saved the day! I came in during a torrential rainstorm and had a very heavy bike rack to return to Amazon. I had spent an hour trying to figure out how to get all of the parts back into the original box and in spite of having taken them out of it I was becoming convinced it was not possible. Amarley not only helped me carry it in, he also spent over 20 min figuring out how to get it back into the box!
Amarley was helpful, patient and very courteous. A job well done!

If I could give 10 stars I would! Everyone was beyond helpful every step of the way. On top of the incredible customer service, Ali worked with us to give discounts so the packing and shipping was within budget (without his help, it would have been impossible). I can’t say enough good things about my experience and the staff there.

Do not go there for amazon returns. They are clearly contradicting amazon policy about packages. Amazon states that items need to be in their original packaging, not in a shipping box to be returned. The whole idea is to remove the requirement for return packages and the store associates process it with just a barcode. I have done it more than dozens of times with other UPS stores or other amazon partners. They should be BANNED from processing amazon returns as they clearly do not want to do it. They straight refuse returns without shipping boxes. I assume they try to upsell shipping boxes to amazon return customers and that is just dishonest.
