About Cotton Hollow Preserve
Cotton Hollow Preserve offers a beautiful natural experience with opportunities for both hiking and swimming. Visitors can enjoy a short hike that leads to a refreshing swimming hole, often described as magical. The trail features a dense canopy of trees providing welcome shade and winds through a ravine alongside a stream. This stream forms pools that are excellent for swimming, with some areas even offering opportunities for low-height cliff jumping. The scenery is picturesque, characterized by beautiful riverbeds, rock formations, and easy access to the water. While some parts of the trail can be steep and a bit difficult, with potential for danger, many find it manageable. The water is noted as being cool and refreshing, and warm during summer months. The preserve is a popular spot, so it can get crowded on nice days. Visitors are encouraged to be responsible and respectful, as litter has been an issue in the past, with rangers present to ensure visitors do not leave anything behind. It is recommended to bring bug spray and good shoes for the visit.

Rules and regulations for those thinking of visiting, they have rangers in the lot making sure no food / coolers are being brought in, as well as cops running license plates.

This was my first time here I hiked the north and south trails. Each side had their own little quirks and beauty. The north side was a little prettier than the south side however, I enjoyed them both. They both have the river as well as little ruins and signs that explain what they once were. It’s a fairly easy hike.
