I continue to have excellent service from this company and today was no exception- they diagnosed and remedied the problem immediately. I was on my way with my a very reasonable repair bill in less than an hour. I highly recommend them!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I dropped my lawnmower off for repair the first week of spring. I constantly called for an update, and they said that they won't be able to get to it until the end of summer. That makes absolutely no sense when this is the time of the year that you will need your lawnmower, the most, I didn't receive my lawnmower back until the end of September and I would never go back to this place again!

Great staff, had good luck with small engine repair in the past. Stihl oem parts are just plain old expensive and you can't get around that. Have a great inventory selection and a very friendly staff though! They are always super busy with small engines so you won't always get a quick turn around on repairs.

17 years ago, I bought a cub cadet lawn tractor from Lowe’s. When the Kohler engine compression release pawl failed 13 months later, Lowe’s had dropped the line and I was on my own. Another sub-prime shop ‘repaired’ it but poorly. At the end of season 2, I left the tractor with Sudden Service. Ed Sharpe (sp?) called me a couple weeks later to advise it was set to go WITH A BRAND NEW ENGINE and AT NO CHARGE!!! Ed and Sudden Service obviously have the ear and respect of suppliers and their reps. They sure earned mine - I’m ready to shop for a zero turn mower now and will start and probably stop with Sudden Service

I waited three weeks patiently for Sudden to call about scheduling a spring service. When I called about a reminder, they said I had to wait another four weeks, which was unfortunate and disappointing. I could have gone with another company. Awful customer service.

Help is getting better here. I have been a customer for over 20 years. Sometimes they need to change the attitude towar customers, they appeared to be bored or lacking knowledge on how to be friendly. Good shop to have your equipment serviced, professional. Just need to be more customer friendly

Sudden service is great! Always reasonably priced and the service is superior. Very knowledgeable staff and probably the BEST Stihl dealer in the greater Hartford/Tolland area by far. They don't sell cheap "knock off parts" they sell the real OEM part and almost always have it on the shelf. Highly recommended by professionals.

I contacted them to have my riding mower picked up and repaired. I was told 4 weeks for pickup and returned in a week later. I called 6 weeks later and I was promised it would be picked up at the end of the week and returned in 2 weeks. No one called me. I contacted them the following week and canceled the work order, which they didn't even ask me why? So, I figured I would let them know in a rating.

You would not believe how many places I went to get craftsman freaking blades At least 6 different times.Sudden had them.

I have bought 3 pieces of equipment here in the last 20 years and parts and been very happy with them. My Ariens snow blower needed an ignition coil and I bought it here, it seemed expensive for a coil. Come to find out they sold it to me before tax for $ 58.00 and the exact part is online for $ 36.00. Even with shipping parts are far less online. Its one thing to support local small business and expect to pay a little more for good service and another thing to simply get hosed.

My husband was having issues with our snowblower last night. He could not get it running. He thought it was a fuel filter or carburetor problem. I called last night at around 5 pm. The gentleman ( I wish I remembered his name) helped my husband try to trouble shoot it. They said they could look at it today and hopefully get it back before the storm.Come to find out it needed the battery charged. He told me husband how to do that and where the cords were. Well woohoo this morning it was running. Thank you so much for all your help with someone just over the phone. This is great customer service. Thank you again

If you're considering taking your small engine tools to Sudden Service, do yourself a favor and go some place else! In the middle of September, I took two chainsaws there that I wanted to have serviced. When I was finally waited on, I was told (very rudely and with no further explanation) by the individual at the desk that they wouldn't even work on one of the chainsaws; he then reluctantly said they they could work on the other chainsaw but that it would likely be 5 to 6 weeks before they could work on it. Needing to have a working chain saw, I agreed to have them do the work. I was however bothered by a feeling that they had no intention of performing the work requested. After 9+ weeks had gone by, I went to the store and confirmed what I expected to hear - that no work had been performed. As I waited for the chainsaw to be retrieved, I observed an interaction between another customer and a member of the service staff. The customer was picking up a chainsaw and the service staff couldn't have been more rude and condescending; basically scolding the customer for not putting stabilizer in the gas! I will never go back to this business. I would have "respected" them more if when I brought my chainsaws there that they had told me that they had no intention of performing the work. Also in a business like this, it would seem to me that customer service is critical. They have demonstrated to me that is not a priority for them.
