I had a design consultant form the Stamford store come out to help me choose a rug, in particular, the right size rug. The rug I ordered was made to size, so I could make it perfect for the space. I like the rug in terms of color and quality, but even though sizing was a priority, it still was not as good as it could have been if the only it were six inches bigger. I wish the consultant had advised about the right size for legs of the furniture to be on the rug as well coverage of the space to define the room.

We can not thank Terry Anastos of the Stamford Ethan Allen store enough. Terry's expertise, professionalism and ability to understand what we wanted was outstanding. We had a difficult space to work with and definite opinions on what we wanted. Other stores/designers expected us to compromise. Terry rose to the challenge and exceeded our expectations. We especially appreciated her approach - the experience felt like working with a friend rather than a driven salesperson. Thank you Terry!

Our furniture choice was scheduled to take 2months to arrive, after waiting past that point we contacted Ethan Allen only to be told that the delay would be more like 4 more months. I told them to cancel the order and "miracle of miracles" they found my piece. I call BS

We engaged Ethan Allen in Stamford CT to completely remodel our Great Room - furniture, lights, rugs, and accent pieces. Terry Anastos, our designer was wonderful throughout the entire process. She rapidly synced up with what we wanted stylistically and extended our ideas with some creative visions of her own. She put together a room which totally delighted us. She was courteous and professional, and we will gladly go back to her for our next major project.

We can’t say enough about our Ethan Allen experience, much in part to our consultant Kimberly Westfield located out of the Milford store. My husband and I walked in with empty rooms to fill and no vision. She quickly accessed our needs, defined our style and set to work. We loved the designs she suggested so much we decided to do the dining room, living room and add a few accent pieces in the bedroom. The result was a home we feel comfortable in, is functional and represents our family. She even went above and beyond, delivering a mirror in time for the holidays. We were blown away, and so is everyone who enters our home. Would highly recommend!

Our designer was fantastic! Mark Audley guided us to make the right choice on a couch based on the dimensions. Coordination with the rug was perfect! Couldn't ask for more,

It was my lucky day when Ethan Allen interior designer Terry Anastos walked up to me a year ago and asked if she might be of assistance. My husband and I were walking around the store to get ideas for our living and dining rooms in our new apartment. Terry listened attentively so she would understand our style, and then proceeded to help us choose everything we'd need. She came to our place, took measurements and mapped out our game plan. She helped us coordinate and choose all of our items, right down to the paint colors on the walls for each of our rooms! The result is a beautiful apartment that feels "like us". I highly recommend Terry for any decorating project you may have!

I was incredibly fortunate to meet Audrey Dinkleoo when I returned to Greenwich from California in a hurry. I had experienced some health issues that had caused delays, but was lucky to find a home quickly. So. Single man. Difficult shape/floorplan in a lovely house. How can I describe it? Long and skinny. Very long. Potential, but how to do it? Plenty of rooms, but...skinny. And a bit of a feeling of everything - all the rooms - in miniature.I was a very eccentric client who cared - most of all - about fitting a 9 foot Steinway concert grand piano, straight along one wall. It's a working instrument, not one for show that would sit in the middle of a room with sterling frames on top.The piano was really the Mt. Everest Audrey had to work around, had to incorporate into any idea.So. I was living in a suite in the Old Greenwich Hyatt. I had found the lovely house. But it was empty. Completely. Empty.I needed a place to sit. A couch. Not knowing how fine new furniture/design houses worked, I assumed my job was to measure, pick something that worked, pay, and wait for delivery....that week. Uh...no. At stores like RH and Ethan Allen, you design your piece and wait while it's built for you.Or you move into the awful secondary market. This is where the Audrey/Douglas partnership began.Serendipity and good sense. Audrey happened to have one couch - just one - that she sent me pictures of. It was in an unusual part of the store where occasionally there are finished pieces live that need homes.Over the phone, she opined that it was perfect. It fit my requirements. And she was assured. Was she pushing? No. She was correct. Right on the money. She had picked up on who I was, what taste and preferences I tended towards, and she thought it was right. And we had only spoken over the phone.I had not been able to get in to see it. But one Saturday, she called and told me there was a customer there who seemed very interested and was circling with another EA rep. What would most people have thought? She was selling or pushing.No. I arrived in minutes. Audrey had turned a tag or a cushion, something that indicated it was likely sold. She saved that couch for me. The other gentleman bought a similar but lesser piece that was sitting next to it.The couch is perfect. Space, color, design, balance, elegance. It was delivered and I'm presently sitting on it as I type this. Then? Audrey and I gradually began working together on other aspects of the home. Because of trust. When Audrey offered to help, she was genuinely offering just that. I was her priority. Design and balance that suited me were her priorities, not making money. That was completely secondary to our working process.Very gently, Audrey began adding an idea here and another there. Everything came from learning about me, my unique tastes, my art, etc.She picked up my preferences in color palette and style. And with her amazing design skills, began to offer me ideas. A glorious hand knotted Persian rug. A gentleman's club chair with a matching ottoman. An exquisite bookcase. All are in the process of being finished and will arrive gradually.I have an art collection. She looked at my photos and the canvas sizes and almost began to paint, herself, like a master of color and shape. We are still working together. From a lifetime of houses and inherited furniture, I have accumulated much too much to use. She is helping me to make sense of it all and work with the geometry of this house.Audrey is gifted. Truly. Yes; she can use all the design software available to her like a master. But everything comes from inside her heart and head. You cannot teach what she does. One is born with these abilities, as an artist. She never ever pushes. If she senses you have any hesitation, she listens, figures and understands. She will continue to be an invaluable asset to me.And a trusted friend.Douglas Thomas.

A BIG SHOUT OUT to the employees at Ethan Allen in Stamford, CT. We recently went into the store and everyone was so friendly. From the moment we walked in, we received a friendly greeting - all of the sales people we encountered gave us a smile and "Hello". The manager, I think Linda? offered us water and we received a catelog and good wishes as we left. We didn't end up buying at the moment, but will definetly return.

DO NOT SHOP AT THIS LOCATION. I had the unfortunate luck getting via on-line " designer" Mary De La Parr when I was looking for a side chair for my desk. Once a chair, I asked if the welting was included, and she indicated that it was. WHAT she did not mention was all of the options available with this chair, bias welting, nail heads and metal ferrule for the legs. I had a bad feeling about this transaction, so I reached out to another store and Designer who did offer all the options without me asking about options...what a real Designer does. I did complain to Mary's store manager and district manager, heard back from the store manager. She told me "That the reason Mary did not offer any options was because I did not express any interest in options". I asked about welting, would that not show an interest? At least it provided an opening for her to offer options. You would think that a store manager would get that their staff is leaving money on the table by not offering options. That is just bad management.

We've worked with Terry on two rooms and have been more than pleased!! She listened to what we wanted but also moved us in a direction a bit out of our comfort zone for a more updated look and we've loved the results. Looking forward to working with her again!! (Lori R)

I spoke with Terry A. last night about some last minute design concerns I had. I needed a second opinion and she was great. She was very patient with me and listened to my concerns. She was honest, gave me great advice, and totally put my mind at ease! I can't wait for my furniture to arrive. It was a pleasure talking with her.Thank you very much Terry!
