Amazing little market ? Coffee and donuts in the morning, take out options for lunch or dinner, and fresh fish and produce for making your own at home. It's our go-to grocery stop living downtown.Using the back area with the fireplace for omakase could take this place and Stamford to a whole new level in my book! ?

At 5:20 p.m., when we paid in the store, there were two cashiers here, and one item was scanned twice! We kept asking the cashier in English, but he still pretended not to understand. Finally, I took the receipt and asked him what could be so expensive. Then he scanned it out and returned the money to us. After I asked the clerk what his name was, and he said Peter. I want the shopkeeper to know that their new clerks need more training!

The only grocery store in downtown Stamford other than Target. Limited selection of fresh produce. Obviously this is a Japanese market with mostly Japanese products, though there are some other Asian products. We love going here for Japanese foods and snacks we can't get easily elsewhere. They have Calbee brand potato chips (honey butter flavor is amazing), candies like Hi-Chew, mochi, and frozen desserts like waffle ice cream sandwiches. This location also does a Japanese style of "healthy" doughnut, fresh baked.Parking is street parking and you almost definitely won't find parking in front of the shop.FYI this is a smaller outlet of Maruichi, which has a larger grocery store in West Stamford.

I enjoyed shopping here and looking at the variety of Japanese products. Great place to come and find something new to pique your culinary curiosities. I came away with some ginger dressing, panko bread crumbs, rice crackers, and some other tidbits. They have all types of rice, sauces, seasonings, fresh vegetables, frozen foods, snack foods, teas, a variety of soy sauces, and fresh items. Definitely worth a stop in. On street parking

I bought this item to be my traditional tea at home in this place on 6/6/2023 today is 6/23/23 and when I went to prepare my tea I saw that I had these things everywhere I went to complain and the person in charge found it What he did was tell me that it was an old item and that he hadn't bought it in the store. The truth is, I don't have to lie, I just went because I spent 26 dollars and at least receive another one to make my tea, but this store It does not accept claims or give returns when there is a consumer law in the United States where they must give at least one ratification for what is purchased in a store but this store is not like that, too bad I loved this store and I will not go anymore. I inform the consumer so that they think about it before buying items in this store

Quaint & loving the new location! I'm still in love with the fresh foods section that has a variety of bento, onigiri (rice balls), karage (fried chicken), salmon, and more. Staff still friendly as always and the space is a lot bigger and cleanlier. Best Japanese market in the Fairfield/Westchester area.

Incredible find, this little shop has everything. I lived in Japan and it was nice seeing some familiar selections and some stuff I've never had. They have pre-made food, groceries, and dishware. I highly recommend this place.

I was so excited to check this new location out after shopping at Maruichi Cafe so many times before. This place is definitely more spacious than Maruichi Cafe but somehow I feel that it has fewer selections in terms of groceries. Maybe it’s just me. Somehow I couldn’t find what I normally got from Maruichi Cafe such as lotus roots. But overall it still has a wide variety of Japanese/Asian snacks. They have a different section with a lot of Japanese tea pots and porcelains which are very nice. Definitely recommend a visit.
