Sterling Farms Golf Course is widely regarded as one of the best public golf courses in Fairfield County. Unlike many town-owned courses that offer a mediocre experience, Sterling Farms is a leased course that reinvests its profits back into maintaining and improving the facilities. The course is well-maintained, with a nice driving range and short game practice area. The staff is helpful and friendly, with the pro shop and starters providing a pleasant experience for golfers.
The driving range is praised as the only quality one within a 20-mile radius, with well-maintained hitting areas and balls in good condition. The course itself is described as an "incredible public course" that is kept in pristine shape, even into the late fall. The foliage and views, especially in October, are priceless. While some golfers wish for a monthly range membership, the greens fees for residents are considered an excellent deal.
Overall, Sterling Farms Golf Course is a gem of a public course that offers a wonderful golfing experience for players of all skill levels. The course's excellent maintenance, beautiful setting, and friendly staff make it a standout destination for golfers in the area.
Great public course It has improved big time since the new groundskeeper took charge Now looks and feels like a private course Also has a great driving range and a good practice area
