I go the Mystic Big Y multiple times a month. It’s typically my main grocery store that I go to. I’ve been going there for many years and never had any issues… Until today
While I was at self checkout and was leaving, I was approached by a Big Y employee and was told that I didn’t purchase the 10 cent bag at the register… After trying telling her I did, we had to go back on receipt to look. Which showed I did buy the 10 cent bag…
I’m not really a person that likes to complain, but this kind of has me feeling uneasy about going to the mystic store.
If your only duty is to stand there at the self checkout and make sure no one steals the bags, then at least get the people who are actually doing it and not accusing the ones who actually do pay.

I just have to say, it's extremely clean and museum-like. The meat section looked light a high-end display. Everything is very very good. They make their own pizza and calzones that would rival many restaurants. They have the Big Y app on your phone that allows you to scan items on your phone, then SKIP the line at check out by just scanning a QR code on your way out. The only oddity is that the carriages are to the right of the entrance. You literally have to croos the exit to get a carriage, then cross the exit traffic to get into the store. A very very bad design. I try to get a carriage from the lot to eliminate that. Love the place and glad it's part of our community.

A good store much of the time. Forget Mondays after weekend shopping runs them out of basics like scallions, parsley, limes, basic chicken cuts, beef and so on. Not so “World Class”. A World Class operation would have all produce and protein restocked and up and running by Monday morning. That’s management’s job. Not here. There clearly are management issues as well as customer frustration issues.

My grandfather was treated poorly by staff for simply calling and asking if they had ovaltine..they left him on the phone for 10 mins just for someone to yell at him.. he’s 93 and that’s the only thing he has to look forward to in his last years. Poor costumer service.
