I would highly recommend this school to anyone interested in learning about Japanese based fighting styles, including jujitsu and sword fighting. I am currently enrolled in the women's self defense program, which has its base built on the same foundations. Sensei Erik Johnstone is very knowledge and skilled; the environment of the school is very comfortable and non-threatening. Students are not set up against one another to compete and "beat" each other at learning new skills but instead are encouraged to help one another and be supportive of us newcomers. Definitely a five star rating!

As a complete newcomer to Japanese swordsmanship, I was amazed by the kind welcome and patience of not just the instructor (sensei) but of all the students.. each of whom take an active interest in your development. This is a great mental and technically physical workout with good company founded in traditional samurai skills, practices and beliefs.. highly recommended.
