What a beautiful and historic library! And the staff were so welcoming to put-of-Townes who just wanted to look around. Well worth a visit. If I lived in Stonington, I know that I would spend a whole lot of time in this gorgeous space.

I am very pleased with this library, everyone working was extremely friendly and helpful!! Not only that, this library offers items and services that I never thought they would. Along with the wide variety of books, there are also new Nintendo Switch games to rent, a variety of movies, hot spot devices, chrome books and discounts on museums and parks in CT. There is access to all of this and more, all you need is a free library card! I also have a garden and by the front door they had a section with tons of vegetable and flower seeds for free! Overall I am very impressed with this library and look forward to using all of the amazing services they provide!

Beautiful building, recently remodeled. In the course of remodeling, they made a lot of the shelves shorter, discarding many books in the process -- especially classics and older books. Most of their fiction is new, with lots of beach-reads. It seems to be a library that prioritizes social events and community gatherings over a great book collection. Perhaps that's what most people in the town prefer-- but not me.Although I live here, I go to the Mystic or even Old Lyme libraries to find something *I* want to read. The children's department has discarded almost all their classics even though there are lots of empty shelves. Nor do they have much non-fiction for children, despite the fact that many children now prefer non-fiction. On the plus side, they will special order books for you. Still, this library is a disappointment.
