It was pretty cool to see, but be prepared for the long line. We ended up just taking a picture outside of it, and it was fine.

Great tree. I took my mom and Mt wife there. I took my service dog with me with zero problems. There was plenty of parking and it didn't have that many people.

If you're looking for amusement park fun, skip this place. It's a "tree" made out of lobster traps and decorated with lights and painted buoys. But if you are looking for something kitschy, unique and a great place to take photos, this is itWe waited for quite some time but it was close to the holiday and prime time. My child was able to play on the playground that is right next to the trap tree during the wait so it didn't seem terrible. Everyone was friendly -I had dropped $5 and multiple people helped me find it. The volunteers there were awesome at taking photos and making sure others weren't in your photos.Like I said-this likely won't be the best time of your life but it's a great annual thing to do or, fun to visit if you are a tourist or at least visit once if you live in CT.

Very unique and well done. You can purchase the lobster bouys if you want. They are done by local people and artists. This is the 3rd season for this project and they have made it bigger and better each year. There are also a couple of good restaurants to go to before or after - Watch Dog Cafe or Breakwater. The lobster trap "tree" is about in the middle between the two restaurants. We have eaten at both of these multiple times and they are worth a try.

Love this lobster trap tree! The Stonington Lobster Trap Tree in Connecticut is a charming and unique holiday attraction that captures the spirit of the coastal community. This unconventional Christmas tree, made entirely from lobster traps with attached hand painted buoys is a testament to the town's maritime heritage and its creative holiday traditions. The collaborative effort involved in creating and maintaining the tree reflects the close-knit nature of Stonington. Local businesses, artisans, and volunteers come together to bring this unique holiday tradition to life, fostering a sense of unity and shared celebration. My goal at Christmas time has been to see as many lobster trap Christmas trees as possible. Yeah, kind of nutty but they're so cool! Oh, and yes, you can go inside the tree and there is a volunteer who will take your photograph.
