If the M&T branch's ATM is down and we are forced to go elsewhere to get cash, we should not be charged a fee for that. The other bank's ATM charges a fee to use and then M&T charges us additional fee. Poor business practice.

I love this bank and this particular branch. I have been going there for almost 7 years now and have never once had an issue. Everyone who works there is very kind, helpful and friendly. They really get to know you. To be honest a while back I was going to change banks as I did not have direct deposit but I didn't want to lose the experience of the staff. Now I DO have the opportunity to have direct deposit but I continue to go deposit my checks to go see my People's people!

I don't know what transpired with these other reviews, and I won't demean their opinions, but I have been using this branch for 37 years, and have nothing but positive things to say about my experiences there and about the way I've been treated.

Been a customer for 18 year and am currently looking for a new bank. Staff is incompetent, products are overpriced and they have no concern to keep my business when I brought up specific issues

I went to make a deposit into my daughter's passbook account. I had a check for $100 and a $20 bill that got partly chewed up by the dog. But still most of it was there so I thought it might be good. The woman at the customer service counter said that both serial #s had to be there. Fine. I then asked her if she would dispose of it thinking that a bank is the proper place to do this. She got this "It's not my problem" attitude, and I was rather shocked. How is it that a bank teller not only doesn't know how to dispose of invalid tender but acts as if I asked her to do some bizarre thing? I asked what I should do with it and in a tone of utter indifference she says, "Whatever you waaaaant." What a b---h. I will avoid this branch in the future.

I went to open an HSA and the first person I encountered was busy, which is fine, but she acted as if she couldn't believe I was asking to open an account. She then asked another employee to help me who shook their head no despite not having anyone they were already helping. It was as if I were a burden to them and I wanted to open an account with them simply. They need to work on their customer service. If you are busy, there is a way to phrase things appropriately. I also would not have minded waiting but I left for another branch because of how impolite the staff was.
