I had a very odd experience at Vanna’s Hair Studio today. I was looking for a new salon closer to home and had read the salon’s reviews and saw the pictures on Facebook. They were overwhelmingly favorable, many from long time clients. I called for a haircut and was offered 12:30 Thursday. They called the next day asking if I could change it to 1:00 PM. I agreed even though it would be tight since I had to be somewhere at 2:00 PM.I got to the salon at 1:00 PM and walked in the front entrance past the two stylists who were doing blow outs on their clients. I wanted to say hello but neither made eye contact with me. A young woman was shampooing a third client’s hair. When she was done she also did not make eye contact. I said hello to her but there was no effort for further interaction. I was wearing a mask since I have some cold symptoms. Perhaps they thought that was strange.I took my coat off and sat down thinking I may have confused the appointment time. I looked at my phone and realized I had gotten an automated text from the salon at 12:30 asking me to confirm my 1:00 PM arrival with a return text. Even though I was in the salon I texted back. I accessed the link in the text for arrival instructions, but the page was empty.At one point one of the stylists whom I assume was Vanna stepped away from her client to get something and looked right at me. She then walked over to the other stylist and said something to her. The other stylists looked up at me and shook her head yes. Both went back to their clients. I'm not sure who I was scheduled to see but Vanna had started a blow out on another client and the other stylist was still working with her client.At 1:15 PM I went to the desk and spoke to the salon assistant (who had just arrived at 1pm). I told her I needed to cancel my appointment. It did not seem if I was going to be seen soon and there would have not been enough time. She asked if I wanted to reschedule but I declined.The bizarre lack of a greeting or acknowledgement while I was there made me think they are not wanting new clients. If their client base is at capacity they should tell people they are not accepting new clients. I am disappointed this didn’t work out.

So I went to this salon because my friend at work recommended Vannas to me. I had my first session I wasn't thrilled about it but they invited me back in and I am more than happy I am thrilled with it definitely be coming back!

They are a great salon! I went to another local salon prior to trying Vanna's and it always took more than a month to get an appointment. They always get in me in in a timely manner and give a quality cut. I'm looking forward to getting my color done with them next visit.

Asked for a hair color 2 shades DARKER (have very light brown hair and my hair gets red with the sun already) with caramel/brown highlights. Specified no bleach or very light due to dryness in my hair. When she was done, my hair was 3 shades LIGHTER with BLOND highlights. The girl left the color on my hair for longer than an hour in total - after I told her that color takes quickly to my hair. My hair is very thin/fine. She never came over to check my hair except when she was going to wash it out. My hair was RED with brassy blond highlights when she dried it. When I said it was way lighter than we talked about, another employee said, "next time you can do low lights". I was there for more than 2 hours with a disappointing outcome - not even remotely close to what I asked for. It was a lot of money to spend for something I had to fix after. I wish I was told I was going to have the most inexperienced girl in the place before I confirmed my appt. She didn't pay attention at all and had squeezed me in between another client who took up almost all of the same time I was there. Thumbs down.

Excellent hairdressers, organic products, excellent customer service, and I feel “safe” there! Never been happier. Vanna is an outstanding owner. Love her and Natalie, and Leslie!
