About Branch Brook Campground
Branch Brook Campground, located in Thomaston, Connecticut, is a well-reviewed campground that offers a quiet and peaceful setting for visitors. The campground has a good location, with easy access to Interstate 84, and is in close proximity to several restaurants within walking distance. The sites at Branch Brook Campground are generally spacious, with some offering views of a nearby creek. The facilities, including the picnic tables and electrical/water/sewer hookups, are well-maintained and functional. Reviewers have noted that the sites are level and the driveway access is suitable for RVs. While the campground may not be the most modern or well-staffed, it seems to provide a decent overall experience for those passing through the area or looking for a quick overnight stay. The Wi-Fi, though not perfect, is better than what is typically found at other campgrounds. The seasonal campers may contribute to a slightly "messy" appearance in some areas, but this does not appear to significantly detract from the overall experience. Potential visitors should be aware that the campground's office may not always be staffed, and some reviewers have mentioned feeling slightly unsafe as a woman camping alone due to the predominantly male camper population. Additionally, there are some safety concerns regarding the wooden decks and steps at certain sites. Overall, Branch Brook Campground offers a simple, no-frills camping experience that is suitable for those passing through the area or looking for a quick overnight stay. While it may not be the most luxurious or well-maintained campground, it provides a decent value for the price and a peaceful natural setting.
