Well we were quite excited when we found this beautiful restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Very nice atmosphere and great reviews - what luck! But turned out to be a bit of an expensive disappointment. Service is slow, painfully slow. You shouldn’t have to wait 15 minutes to see your server for the first time. You shouldn’t have to wait 30 minutes between courses especially when the restaurant is half empty. Manager came over to apologize and when I pointed out we had been waiting 30 minutes for our food she told us that others had been waiting 45. Not exactly comforting. (Update. Now it’s been 45 for us too). Food - average at best with NYC prices (65 for one of our entrees). Not worth it. Don’t recommend. One note. Manager Cara did try to make the best of a bad situation. Offered us soup and 100 off the meal. Wish she would have just taken care of the whole thing but at least she tried. Frustrating night.

If you are looking for an amazing dining experience, you must visit Anya! This gem is located in a rural field but when you enter the building, you feel like you are in a Manhattan restaurant! The inside is pure class and elegance! The menu offers a variety of dishes and the food is cooked to perfection every time! While dining, there is usually a piano or an acoustic playing in the background which provides a very relaxing atmosphere! The staff is top notch and at your service from the moment you walk through the door. Check it out! You won't be disappointed!

Anya has outstanding atmosphere, knowledgeable and professional staff, as well as top of the line chefs. A must visit gem in the quiet corner neck of the woods. I highly suggest trying the chateaubriand, a timeless classic. Medium rare paired with a fine red and you’re guaranteed to enjoy your dinner!

Vegans Beware! Their 1 vegan option, $32, was absolutely wretched. Rubber eraser gnocchi with a few onions thrown in. Hint of truffle to make it seem fancy. Nice but tacky decor. Most deuces were seated side-by-side. Awkward. Service was good but slow

Great experience. We had a somewhat large party of seven, but nevertheless our table was seated on time, the service was great, and the food was fantastic. Would recommend.

Went to dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The decor and ambiance are gorgeous, the food was excellent, and the service was great! There was a small snack plate to start, delicious rolls, we decided to share a Caesar salad and they were kind enough to split it on 2 plates -it was quite possibly the best Caesar salad I've ever had & I didn't think you could improve on a basic Caesar. I got the beef Wellington -it was cooked perfectly and the serving size was just right, only issue was there was just a bit too much bread to the amount of beef. My husband got the stuffed shrimp and risotto which he liked and couldn't quite finish the 3rd shrimp-very filling. The seasonal drinks were great and loved my crème brûlée dessert & my husband said the PB torte (really a parfait) was delish. Our server Pamela was awesome - she really made our evening extra enjoyable and the food & drink service was fast.

Our experience at Anya did not disappoint. This gem in CT felt like a hidden luxurious treat. We started with a round of cocktails, of which all of the new fall cocktails were amazing. The pumpkin-tini felt like a dessert drink, and I wish I ended the night with it rather than starting with it. The two other cocktails I got throughout the night were the perfect balance of alcohol and flavor - a great way to start our experience. Apart from a selection of apps we got for the table, I got a sweet potato and leek soup that was a puree/bisque consistency - it tasted delicious and was presented beautifully. For the main course, I got beef Wellington. I knew if it tasted half as good as it looked, I was in for a treat. Normally, I'm the first one to finish dinner at the table. This places easily in the top three entrees I've ever had, perhaps even first. I was the last at the table to finish because I wanted to savor every. Single. Bite. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating and certainly added to our experience. Overall, the decor and design of the restaurant was exquisite, with much thought given to the finest of details. During the evening, a pianist played softly on a magnificent grand piano, adding to the whole experience. I will be back, as soon as I'm able!

Wasn't happy with our last meal here. Ordered the lobster bisque. It came out a very dark brown color, was barely warm, and the taste was overwhelmed with sherry. The small piece of lobster on top was cold and dry. Ordered the wedge salad. I ate the first grape tomato, and it was old and sour. Noticed all the tomatoes in the salad were old and wrinkly. I asked my husband how his tomatoes where, and he said they were rotten. That's something ANYONE would notice when making a salad, not just a chef. I ordered a rib eye, medium, and it was blood rare.I just can't get over how such fine dining could let cold soup and rotten tomatoes go out to customers.

A new standard for 5 stars. My husband took me to Anya for a date night and I’ve never been so impressed with our overall experience. The ambiance was an inviting and enticing vibe. The wait staff were professional and prompt. The best part, the food is OUTSTANDING. Drinks were fantastic. If you’re looking to spoil your partner, meet for business, or just want to eat good for once, go to Anya.

This was our first and our LAST time dining at Anya's Restaurant. We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and upon entering, we were impressed with the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. However, when seated, we were completely ignored for an extended period of time. Some staff were looking at us & seeing the frustration on our faces. It appeared to us that they were discussing & debating about who is going to go and take care of us. Finally, one of them came and apologized for the long wait and had then asked if we'd like to order some drinks. Even when we were seated, we were not even offered any drinks, not even any water. Once we had received our drinks, it took a while before our waiter finally came to us to order our food. FINALLY, the food was brought to us and that was it! Our "waiter" never checked back on us at all! Half way though our meal, we had both finished our drinks and no one EVER came to check on whether we'd like another drink or even to see how our meals were. I would say that the food was just a little more than "OK". It wasn't bad but you do not get what you pay for! Finally, as we were waiting for a long period of time for the bill, I had decided to go to the front desk and ask for it, since we were sitting right next to it. At that point, the waiter came over (while I was still at the front desk) and had asked my wife if we'd "like to see the dessert menu". She had informed him that we "were all set and that we just wanted the bill".Again, he never checked in on us on the food nor about getting any refills. It was not a busy evening whereas the restaurant was not even half-full.The atmosphere is quite pleasant and the piano music was soothing but the service is simply AWFUL. As a matter of fact, while we were eating our meals, another customer was exiting with his party when he blurted, "the service here sucks!" to another couple that had just entered the establishment and were waiting to be seated. It is unfortunate whereas we had high(er) expectations for this beautiful restaurant but were quickly discouraged after the horrible (lack of) service by the staff! We try to support our local businesses but with such an experience, we would be better off going to a chain restaurant and get the same quality of food for a lesser price and much better service.
