They are pricey. The bags they give you rip every time I purchase anything. They have a good selection, though, and they are the only pet shop locally.

Refused service for no reason !!!!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! The pictures on this ad are the dog that that this review is about and as you can see from the photos, he is nothing at all how we were treated!!! Merlin is a 9lb service dog who is fully registered & licensed both federally & stae registered. Merlin’s trained & still in training for his many service dog tasks but he does accompanies me everywhere including doctors, courts, lawyers offices, supermarkets, pharmacies and more…I have never had a problem. I have never been thrown out and Merlin has never bit anyone in his 13 months of life. HE IS LOVED BY ALL!!!
On October 12th 2024 I was refused services for no reason at Petco in Wallingford !!! I went into PETCO in Wallingford after seeing that a nail trim was only $12. HOWEVER…That is only for people that they want to serve. It turns out that Merlin wasn’t welcome there and so instead of them telling me that they didn’t want to serve my dog because they were scared that he was going to bite and growl at them. They just pretended to have full schedules and were very rude and dismissive to my husband and I left in tears. This review is just the beginning of what’s gonna happen to them because I am not letting this discrimination go was it because I was overweight and white was it because my dog really is vicious and mean no you can’t prove that how dare you This I have been badly in 48 years more than I can count, but I have never in my life encounter people working in a place where they’re afraid of animals and that’s what they do is take care of animals. They kept switching between people. afraid of customers and afraid of dogs you gotta be kidding me. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that the first question they asked my 9 pound service dog was if he uses a muzzle I didn’t even know how to answer the question that I answered it wasn’t satisfaction. I never really used muzzle with him. I tried putting one on when he was eating stuff off the ground at six months old and felt too guilty and bad so that was that, never again
Why would work as a dog groomer if you’re afraid of a dog growling or biting you? Not saying it’s never happened but to treat every dog like it’s a vicious biting killer is a terrible thing to do.

My son purchased a Tortoise 34 days ago, It died last night. He spent $400 on the tortoise and supplies and because it’s over the 30 day limit the store will not do anything stay far away from this disgrace of a place.the tortoise was obviously sick from the store because my son did everything they suggested he do

Upon entering the Petco I was overwhelmed with the stench of urine and what I could swear was the smell of decay. All I needed was this SpongeBob decor for my fish tank and when i tried to ring out and pay there was two women at the one register open who were having issues. I saw many workers come out of the room where the fishtanks are, look at the line, and walk back in the room as if to say "Im not doing that". Man at the counter called for assistance many times and nobody came. At one point during my shopping experience, a 4 foot tall manager started talking badly about one of her workers family to me. So unprofessional! Wouldn’t shop there again.

Full service pet friendly store with lots of great products. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and customer focused. My dog, Paige, enjoys visiting, exploring, and saying hello to customers and their pets.

I wish I could give Ashley a thousand stars she is such a wonderful person and I'm glad she helped me find a great deal on my daughter's gift.
