We had to have the transmission rebuilt for a 2011 Mazda CX 7. I believe the owners name was Bill who we dealt with. Everything was explained clearly, and some additional work that could have possibly been needed, did not need to be done. It was great to not have that possible extra expense. It was clear when the car was dropped off that it would have been a few weeks before we got it back and that was exactly the case. The work was done back in November and I wanted to wait some time to write my review. Everything has been working fine.

This place was knowledgable, informative, fair and honest. I was offered recommendations based on how much I was looking to pay. Just a shop that knows what they're doing and isn't looking to rip you off like most places do.

We don’t recommend these folks anymore. A lot of money, something happened with the work because shifting was getting worse. Took it back. No explanation on what they had to fix—fixed their work/errors and then returned it to us with an error code flashing to service 4wheel drive. Found the entire 4wheel drive electrical harness unplugged!!!! And the trans vent tube hanging on ground—not tucked up into place. And when we called them about this they apologized sort of, and then justified with insulting excuses—the harness was more than obviously not plugged in and throwing code on dash!!!!! This has been a great place in the past but not now. Buyer be aware!!Service: Transmission

So I’m having a massive issue with Smitty's Automatic Transmission Inc. they want me to pay them 3600$ and come and pick up my truck that has the exact same problem (hard shifting overdrive off light flashing) when I brought it to them Do not use this company

My car went in working fine, just looking to see what a discoloration was on the bottom of the car, nothing on the ground. It came out supposedly needing a coolant unit, hoses, and now the car bucks because I believe they disconnected the hose, lost fluid, and wants me to foot the $950 bill!

Dropped off my 72 Challenger to fix the transmission pan leak and a linkage problem. A couple of the bolts didn't match and had to be tapped or a helix coil had to be put in. They didn't want to work on it because "they didn't want to open a can of worms". Out of all my times bringing my car somewhere I never heard that before. Went to pick it up and they left it in they rain over night. That 72 came from LA and hasn't seen rain in almost 50 years. Do not go!!

When it comes to transmissions these guys just know their stuff. From my Ford Excursion to my Dodge Pick Up trucks they have been able to repair or replace as needed. Good guys, easy to work with.

Turnaround is a little bit slow but I can't hold it against them, I can't expect them to fly through cars with only two people working on them. Aside from that they do great work, and are more than fairly priced.
