I don't know what has happened to this place. They used to be decent but not anymore. We made an appointment for our dog to get neutered. They could not give even a ball park of how much it will cost. And on the day of the appointment for him to get neutered, they did this whole sales routine and trying to offer 100 various shots and nonsense. And now we have COME BACK to get what we originated done!!! And enough with the COVID drama!!! They made us stand outside in 35° weather while it was raining for 10 minutes. I will finding another vet that actually listens to our requests instead of just trying to sell stuff.

TOTALLY unhappy with the lack of professionalism and empathy! Dr. Price was AMAZING and I had been a client for 30 years, but he has retired and sold his practice. I am moving to Middlebury and had Luke's records transferred. HUGE mistake! Luke is a 9 month old yorkie and he had developed diabetes so I called and they told me they could see him at 2:30. When I arrived I called to let them know we were here, and I told her I had a specimen and that I wanted his nails trimmed. He doesn't ride well and was very anxious. When the girl came to get him I told her the samething. The doctor called me said they didn't find any issues and was putting him on an antibiotic and probiotics. She then told me he needed obedience school! An anxious, scared 9 month old puppy who doesn't ride well. After she hung up I called back to make sure his nails were trimmed. When we got home I gave his meds and boiled rice and chicken. When I finally sat him on my lap I discovered his nails HAD NOT been trimmed. I called the next morning and the girl said it was in the orders and apologized and that if I bring him back they will do it. I told her no way I was driving 10 miles back. I than called Wolcott Veterinary and asked if I could have Luke resume being a patient and she said of course. When I told her what the vet said about obedience school, she said he had never been a problem and they loved him. The difference??, EMPATHY and a love of animals. I will make the trip gladly to ensure his best interests. Dt. Price, you were the best but Watertown Animal hospital is not the same! Maryann Grosso

Great doctors, but tough to get through to front desk for an appointment. Also a bit on the pricey side.

After leaving several messages for a call back from the doctor with no response, I have decided to write this review. I brought my dog to Watertown Animal Hospital for an exam of his rear leg given he was limping badly. I knew most likely why since he had had a TTA cruciate repair on his other rear leg a year ago by a different doctor and was warned he would likely end up having to have his other leg done too. So a year later here I was with what was predicted to be a repeat situation with the other leg ( the previous surgeon had retired). After waiting several weeks for an appointment,I was told it was likely the cruciate by this dr at Watertown. but he told me I would need to bring my dog back for another appointment for an anesthetic and X-ray. I had to wait another long period for that appointment. After this second visit all in all was charged over $400. I had sent all X-rays and previous records from the previous surgeon who had operated on him before which showed clearly the other leg had had a TTA procedure. We scheduled surgery and on the day of surgery I was told he was in fact having an anterior suture versus the TTA procedure. Firstly the anterior suture is not recommended for dogs of his weight (over 60 lbs) plus it seemed very obvious to me that I was expecting the same surgery he had had but now on the other leg. I was only then told that this practice does not perform TTA. I left without putting my dog through a surgery that would not ensure his full recovery and was not commensurate with the level of repair he had had before. I had to then wait several months to go through the process of getting my dog surgery with another surgeon. Given the time and money i had spent on this fruitless experience I have left messages to request a refund on my expenses and have yet to hear back. A very disappointing experience for sure. This is not a professional practice and they clearly do not care about their customers. I must note that the practice changed hands right before my dog was due to have surgery so this new doctor was involved only right at the end. However she has not given me to courtesy of a call ever though she assured me on the day the surgery was to take place that she would follow up with me. Not a good way to start your new practice.

I've been coming here for years with my dogs. Dr Price is absolutely wonderful, he goes above and beyond. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this animal hospital.

Don't call if you are new or not from Watertown, they are so booked they can't even make an appointment for you... very rude ! So glad I didn't end up taking my dog there . I prefer places where they are caring for animals .
