After Christmas I was returning some items at this Marshall location You would think that I stole something The cashier was over analyzing searching and looking for something wrong with the items that I was returning It was a broom that you put together it was a cat toy in a box and a pepper grinder First of all when you purchase from a Marshall home store you can't return it to a regular Marshalls Go figure And I had my receipt the ink was worn off not my fault I had it pulled it up in my wallet they were telling me oh we can't see anything oh I'm not going to be able to return it You can't read the receipt I told them not my problem That's your problem You guys should have better ink or receipt paper and then I was telling them that I had an issue with you guys and another location they told me I couldn't return these items at their store I had to come back here and return it because you guys are home store And then they cashier was talking to I believe probably a manager I know she was talking about me she couldn't even look at me I was staring her down I know I should have done that I was heated I was mad I like I went for one store to this store and you guys are giving me a problem I have my receipt I have the item what's the problem So guys if you do choose to shop at Marshall take a picture of your receipt right away and also send it to your email because this is ridiculous we shouldn't have to go through this I'm going to say I because everybody experiences different sometimes I believe they pick and choose who they want to mess with.

I like to shop in peace and respectful way but, when you come to the best part,
Customer Service is some days it is nice some days they are very trashy and don’t know what they are doing most of the time. I hate shopping on Fridays here, shopped for years here I hate to say that, but it’s true.

I went to the store to return an item that I bought at marshals in Avon with a receipt. They would not return the item stating that I should go in Avon, the cashier asked for help the supervisor. The supervisor, Riana was extremely rude and used a street language with me.
I would never go back at that store even though I live in west Hartford.

This specific home goods was quite disorganized and messy. They have a large selection of items along with the Marshalls but it can be hard to walk around as the aisle are narrower with items laying in them. I was able to find a great rug for my dorm. There were some other nice items as well.

Store a little disorganized but very good items. You will need time to find what you need. The quality of the items is very good for their cost per unit.

Their selection of women's tops were horrendous and very fugly. Didn't buy anything was in and out within 10 minutes.

I just walked into the store and I was so shocked, I had to record this review while in the store. Being in West Hartford, Connecticut one would think that the surroundings and atmosphere would be neat, organized, and clean. First, there were no carts to speak of – another lady and I had to scrounge around to find a cart – AND THEN find one that WORKED!! The one that I found had dried oranges at the bottom of the cart, which I had to remove. The entire place is a disarray, disorganized, and definitely needs a deep clean. I did do some shopping but I didn’t stay long because most of the time, I had to navigate through an obstacle course with junk all over the place. Went to check out at the door I came in and there was no one there. A manager said that I needed to go to the other end of the store to checkout and then go back to the door where I came in. It was a TOTAL CLUSTER!!! Big Lots and Walmart is better organized and cleaner!!

A sad experience. This store occupies the same space as Lord and Taylor once did, an institution run with legendary grace, class, and style. Marshall’s & HomeGoods of West Hartford is anything but. I was mocked and snapped at by a cashier and one who may have been a manager as I asked if there might be additional staff who could open another register to alleviate a waiting line at that time 10 customers deep and growing. Those of us waiting could see the manager and the associate who mocked me were both very much available. They still had the lights on at their respective registers and had walked away from them. I see that there are numerous negative reviews listed here- it appears that upper management is either oblivious or simply doesn’t care. Be prepared for the substandard, future patrons.

No organization whatsoever. Everything all over the place. Anything that was on hangers was ugly. No thank yew. My first time here & also the first time I ever walked into a Marshalls & left after 5 minutes without buying anything.

The checkout experience was horrible. The employees are not friendly and did not smile once. They looked quite miserable in my two encounters with them. They need training or perhaps need to find a job they actually enjoy.
