I rented a 10 ft truck and drove it 21 miles. I put 2 gallons of gas in the truck which is more than enough gas for 21 miles. I showed their employee named Will the gas payment receipt. He tried to charge me a $7.50 refueling fee because he claimed the gas gauge wasn't at the same level. He refused to remove the fee until I had to get the manager involved. The manager never spoke to me. It appears to be a game they play to get extra fees.

Great staff and customer support. I did run into issues with the app not able to find my location; which is step 1 of the self pick-up. I switched to using the website instead of the app and it found my location right away. Then I had issues on step 2 with the selfie, when I submitted the picture it would refresh the page and start all over from the beginning.The staff in the store tried to assist, but eventually helped me get checked out at the counter. True Professionals!! Thank you!

I would like to highlight the exceptional customer service in this location, specially Alitza Claudio, the general manager. I have been here back in February to return a vehicle and apply for a storage space and she was friendly, helpful and you can feel her good energy. I came back to rent a truck this week and she was there waiting with a smile. Her staff is also great and well trained. Thank you for the great service. :)

The manager and staff at this Uhaul were fantastic! We used this facility for storage, truck rental, and propane refill. The manager went above and beyond to help us on multiple occasions and the other staff members were very courteous and friendly. Good service, clean location, and great people!

The bad reviews must either be user error or the staffing recently changed. One woman complained about the app "never" working, but it does work. Something the app doesn't tell you when booking a reservation is that if you try to check in more than 15 minutes after your reservation time that it flat out won't work. The webmaster and Haul corporate should make that more clear. That is not the fault of the store. I easily located the vehicle I wanted online and reserved. I did not know about the 15 minute cutoff (which was later explained by the very patient manager, Will. He assisted me quickly despite me coming in with serious Karen energy and remained polite and informative the entire time. He also adjusted my time due to the delay so I could stay within my allotted reservation range. Someone else mentioned the trucks being dirty. As I pulled in to return my vehicle, the staff was hard at work cleaning out a box truck. They immediately pulled my van up to begin cleaning it too. The other employees that I encountered during my return were all upbeat and friendly. Not related to my experience with this location, but I truly loathe the per mile charges. It forced me to rethink my route so I could keep the miles to a minimum since I was using it for a non-profit and did not want to rack up the bill. I understand that the marketing is only $20 per day, but I would rather an hourly or tiered pricing system that did not make me reworking my route to keep the cost down.

How am I suppose to do anything in life with 20 hours a week ? Then giving all the over time to the favorites of the crew and you can’t say I was a bad working . I literally did everything inside and out .. I get it you don’t wanna go over payroll so you keep getting your bonuses . Very very Very poor management .

Pay the extra money to go through a reliable, truth worthy, decent company who provides actual working trucks and service. App never works, idiots that work there are lazy and inappropriate. Over charged, gave wrong trucks, keys never ever again

The quality of this company’s customer service has dropped throughout the years to an all time low. Rented a truck that had two nails in the tire and have been waiting over 4 hours for a technician to arrive. Customer service doesn’t have a clue about what’s going on and keeps on stating that the technician is “on his way”. Beware. Use someone else for your move.

One star is way too much for this place. Do not..I mean do not go there. We had a safety issue with the truck, and manager told us it was our fault. Lost a full day waiting for help. Horrible experience. We needed a truck the following weekened and went to Capital Ave. A night to day experience. SMH

Will, the assistant manager, was absolutely sensational. He told me exactly what I needed. He explained all of the products I inquired about. What a gentleman! He carried all of my purchases out for this grandmother. I highly recommend this South St. location.

I came here after a bad rental in Plainville. The manager tim was awesome when I rented but the nasty old woman Claire is disgusting and rude. I'll never rent there again. Alita and her team at this Hartford uhaul were so fast and nice. I'll always come back here. Tell Tim to fire Claire she is gross and has a big rude mouth and she smells like vomit she looks drunk.

I've had good experiences here. Staff is attentive and friendly. Recently went to get a trailer. Had issues with my hitch. The associate helped me as much as he could. When he had to go back inside, another employee offered to help me. My sh@t was actually bent. They gave me a refund immediately. No problem. I'm going tomorrow to get one. A far cry from when I went to the Middletown CT store. Rented a van that had a big dent. Went and told the manager who told me it was "fine" Someone forgot to tell my credit card, that got changed hundreds. Took me me months and threatening involving the police and attorney to get my money back. Run, don't walk from that location. West Hartford U Haul rocks
