love a good Gastro pub and Union Kitchen did not disappoint. Truly wonderful and friendly staff. genuinely nice people which is a refreshing surprise. The food was excellent. Stuffed Queen Olives and Whipped Ricotta toast were incredible. main courses Shrimp and Scallop risotto and the Lobster Rigstoni arrabbiata could stand up to some of the best italian and seafood restaurants. Atmosphere was beautiful and welcoming. would definitely visit again.

The brunch was delicious! The egg sandwich was so good.. and my husbands chicken sandwich was also delicious. And the fries were crispy and cooked to perfection. It was quite the treat! Oh and my Mimosa was really good too. Berkley, our server was fantastic and paid attention to us even though she was very busy. We will definitely return....

Our party showed up a little early for our reservation and had an extra guest, which the hostess was happy to accomodate. I liked the dim lighting and relaxed atmosphere. Cool spot to unwind after work. Our waiter was nice, efficient but I did think it took longer than I'm accustomed to have our orders taken and for food to come out. It was worth the wait though. I ordered the whipped ricotta toast and it didn't disappoint, just sorry that I “had” to share it with the table. The duck breast was phenomenal too. If I lived in the area, I could definitely see myself coming here regularly. Overall, our group was satisfied!

I was not informed that Union Kitchen had a limited fixed price menu on Valentines Day. Many other people were surprised when they showed up as well. I would not have made the reservation if I had known that, but it was obviously too late to get a reservation elsewhere on Valentines Day when we were informed at the door.

The service was great. I ordered the shakshuka, which tasted good, but was an unacceptably small size for an entrée. I certainly don't expect or want a mountain of food. But two eggs and one toasted pita quartered sure feels like an odd decision. Three eggs feels pretty standard. It surprised me as an odd menu item to skimp on given how cheap the dish is to compose. I'd return in the future, but I wouldn't pay ~20 bucks for what is essentially two eggs in tomato sauce and a slice of toast.

Food was ehh. Risotto was dry and pasty. Filet was gray in color and over cooked. Waiter was great but never asked us how it tasted! Very expensive dinner for eh quality execution. Sauces were good and well seasoned. Little disappointed in myself for not sending a $50 med rare order and med well received filet back to the kitchen. Bad on me. Update: Union Kitchen reached out to me to fix the issue. They took my concerns seriously and offered a resolution. I'm impressed with their follow through. I will go back and try again. Thank you Union Kitchen.

Great experience. Pot roast, salmon, and calamari: excellent. Service: prompt and friendly. Cocktails and “mocktails”: creative options and well-crafted. All food and drinks were nicely presented.

Birthday dinner with 6 adults and 1 toddler. Table was a bit tight when all the menus were being used but we managed. We all enjoyed our meals which included Black angus filet, Free range chicken, shrimp and scallop, Scottish salmon and stuffed eggplant. Appetizers and drinks were tasty. Will definitely return.

Union Kitchen was my wife and my first date in 8 months since the birth of our son. Our server was Marla who was an absolute pleasure, attentive and recommended some of the best plates we've ever eaten. We went with the Chef's Tasting Menu with the wine paring and were in heaven. The sommelier Vish, who designed the wine paring, shared stories of where the wines were from, the history of the wine making families, the environments responsible for flavoring the wine and how it paired. We've never had a more elegant and all encompassing wonderful experience. Marla encouraged us to try a few plates we'd typically stay away from and thank goodness we followed her lead. Specifically the pork belly and duck were out of this world. Cheers to the chef! We want to thank Marla, Vish the chef and the staff of Union Kitchen for giving us such a beautiful experience...and much needed from some tired parents! Sincerely, thank you!

A refreshingly different restaurant and menu for Greater Hartford. First rate wine list and cocktails are prepared with great attention to detail and quality. Great value tasting menu is available in addition to thoughtfully prepared entree offerings. Don't hesitate to order the burger if you just feel like that might do it for you. This is where adults should go for a burger, served with great fries and a side salad. After many visits here Union Kitchen is required dining in West Hartford.
