I had a great experience. Marlon is really kind, patient and helpful. He made me feel comfortable to ask questions, and repeated the information again if I didn’t understand. I am a hands on learner and I really liked how Marlon had all the tools handy to explain the lecture with. He goes in depth and makes sure you leave the classroom with all of the information you need. I totally recommend booking your training with Marlon. I don’t regret it!!

Tapper is hands down the best instructor in Connecticut. Very patient and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend everyone to this the course at SDT, you won’t regret it!!

I'm an NRA Instructor myself, But took the class with Mr tapper for recertification, & ID take his class before I'd take my own (its that good) because I learned so many things I'll be able to impart on my current and future students.Thanks For A Most Informative & Well Presented Class Mr Tapper!Carry On!

The class was informative. I think more education on how to handle yourself if you get pulled over, aggressively approached and the balance of the fight should be taught. The educator was professional and patient. I recommend you buy the book !!Thank you!!!!

This pistol permit class is 5 stars and I’m the type of person that do not leave reviews good or bad. Mr Marlon Tapper is a excellent instructor. He makes you feel comfortable with handling a pistol and also knowing everything about a pistol. He also make you understand what you can do and not do as a pistol permit holder. The class was fun and Mr Marlon Tapper knows his stuff and you will to if you take his class. This class is worth the money no matter how much it cost because Mr Marlon Tapper is the instructor.

I had found Safe and Defensive Training through the USCCA site. Was looking for a specific class which was Home Defense for myself and my wife. The class was informative and in depth. Marlon was very professional and patient and he took the time needed to cover the material. He made sure you understood what he was teaching and answered any and all questions we had in the class. At the range he also took the time to explain and correct any mistakes we may have been making and to make sure we were doing what was correct.. We would highly recommend Marlon for any needs someone may be looking for to learn something new or to just hone skills you may already have.

I found Marlon after a quick Google search of local pistol permit certification. His website provided all the info needed and there was constant follow up between emails, texts and return phone calls. The class was close to home, convenient for my schedule and comfortable to learn in. There was a lot of info to pack into a one day class but Marlon does his best not only to make sure the curriculum is followed but that any and every question you have is answered. I will recommend him to my friends and colleagues for personal safety and defense training.
