If you are expecting an old run down hotel with a soft mattress that sags and has squeaky springs, with windows that are so fogged all you see is light, is very small and noisy, and is not inexpensive, this the place for you.

Front desk people are niceThe Hotel is so old and should not be open for business. Our bed was a cot with the loudest noises. Extremely hard to sleep on. Someone definitely smoked in the room. The bathroom- tiles poorly fixed, cracked sink and mildew smell.Restaurant not open Too old to be open.

No, no stars **** for this really sad run down property. The check in process was not to bad. One employee was really ( Ms. Bhavanna) nice and smiling and greeted us with a infectious smile. Her coworker on the other hand was Mr. Grumpy pants. The reason for choosing the hotel was the closest place to visiting a sick family member in Yale Hospital. Had I known that my first night there was going to be disastrous there's no way I would have chosen this place. The beds were horrible in room 601.No electricity that worked properly. Not enough electrical outlets for phones, and medical equipment. Horrendous! And...to top it all off we couldn't put bottles of water into the refrigerator because of the uncleanness of it ( looked like it had not been cleaned out since the 2002 pandemic started) It had BUGS..DEAD BUGS inside. I was totally mortified!!NEVER EVER AGAIN!! WILL I STAY HERE!! WILL NOT RECOMMEND!!Shame on you!! I saw house keeping walking around and having coffee..really something is very amiss here!!

I was searching for an apartment in New Haven. Living in Shelton my commute was not far but gas prices were steep so I thought I'd save money and treat myself with a staycation. Room service and laps in a pool sounded wonderful between appointments to see apartments. What I didn't realize was the pool was closed, the restaurant was boarded up and while I was in my room my 2006 Honda CR-V would have its catalytic converter stolen. My insurance covered the replacement minus a $500 deductible but later that year when I sustained a cracked windshield I could not use my glass replacement coverage for fear my insurance would increase. I missed an appointment to see an apartment while waiting for the police and tow truck. To be clear the staff at the hotel were tremendous. But they were well aware of the problem of catalytic converter thefts in the parking lot of the hotel as were the adjoining bank who hired a security guard. It was nearly impossible to contact an actual human being to voice my concern and complaints. Three months after the incident I received an offer of 10,000 points on a rewards program for a hotel chain for which I had no intention of ever again staying. No discounts or ability to bring pets are worth your safety. As I have documented you will pay in the long run and the management if the hotel chain does not care about you or their employees.Stay away please!

This place is pretty rough, even for a budget hotel. Perks: parking is included, there's free breakfast (albeit pretty pitiful), sheets were clean. Negatives: dirty carpet, stained walls, outdated everything, carpet is a major trip hazard & is buckling throughout the building, counters/fixtures/just about anything needs repair, you will hear your neighbors, moldy and rusted items, you have to pay extra for a microwave or fridge, and your fire alarm might be coated in spray-on popcorn ceiling material. If you just need a place to crash for the night, this could work for you. But this is not up to a typical La Quinta standard. Staff was nice enough though.

The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the state of the hotel is not in appropriate condition. Carpets in lobby area and hallways significantly soiled. Elevator is an adventure so use the stairs. Upon getting to my room the toilet had remnants in it. I sat on the end of the bed and it tilted to one side coming off the metal frame. The desk lamp bulb was at a 45 degree angle and the outlet under the desk was coming out of the wall. The window was completely fogged over and you could not see out of one side. I went to use the fitness center and it was being doubled as a storage room with boxes everywhere. The treadmill and bike did not work. Elliptical machine lasted 20 minutes then died. I then went to get a bottle of water from the vending area and the space had a significant marijuana odor (not judging or opposed but not welcoming for guests either). I was booked for two nights but had to check out early. Just couldn't stay there. It is my hopes that the new owner is able to provide a much needed facelift. Hotel is very rundown and needs some TLC. Would avoid until significant renovations are made.

There should be a minus ten rating. In need of a serious renovation. The first room they gave me had not been cleaned (no sheets on bed light bulbs and papers on the desk. The second room smelled funny, pillowcases had holes in them, bed linens no longer white, couch in room dirty and had parts where the furniture had sunk in (looked very OLD). ceiling showed where there had been a leak. The room just looked like it had not been cleaned or renovated for the ast 20 years. The hallway rugs dirty and wrinkled from years of use. I booked two rooms, and the other room bed had a dent in the middle of the mattress and also smelled. We were afraid to eat the breakfast that is provided by the hotel, I had coffee and there were coffee grounds at the bottom of my cup. I have never stayed in a La Quinta hotel that was bad until now. Never again. I told the people that recommended this hotel not to suggest it to anyone again. Wish I had taken pictures

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! the room was filthy, dried barf on the floor, peeling paint in the bathroom, and the couch horribly stained. The hotel was full of homeless people, and there is no working pool. The hotel was noisy with yelling and pounding, and you are next to the I-95 which is also very noisy. The carpet in the hallway was a tripping hazard. If we weren't so tired, we would have left immediately.

Where do I start The check in was complicated but not their fault. We go up in the elevator and the door won't open. The carpeting in the hallway was atrocious . All buckled, dirty and definitely a tripping hazard. Our room was average and clean. The elevator ride down was worse and got stuck in there for over a minute .The man in there with us says this happens alot. The door took over a minute to open. I reported it to the front desk and they told me they had it checked and were told that's normal . They have 2 elevators . 1 works perfectly and one doesn't. Next was breakfast. The breakfast had alot to choose from but the waffles kept getting stuck in wafflemaker. Eggs were disgusting and unedible. I don't understand how a chain can let their name be on this hotel. What a disgrace . PLEASE DONT EVER STAY HERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WORN

First of all when we showed up there was a bum at the doors to greet us. Then after we had already paid for the "ocean view" suite on orbitz, we ended up in a cheap hotel with horrific outdated flooring, terrible personnel who didn't know what they were doing and an outdoor scene with obnoxiously loud cars and music throughout the night that we could not sleep with. I would NEVER stay here again...room was ok...

Walked in stains on bed sheets and covers. Stains on pull out couch. Stains on mattress from the pull out couch. Warm shower is a plus. Room service phone doesn't work. A lot more negativity. No time write all down. But I would not recommend.

"Newly renovated"? What?! First off, we pulled into the parking lot and saw broken auto glass on the ground; there was also a car idling with no one inside, which was concerning. When we walked into the hotel, the receptionist seemed to be under the influence -- took her a long time to focus on my ID and credit card information. The elevator was highly concerning. The carpeting down the hallway was no longer attached to the floor and the bumps in it were certainly a tripping hazard. When we entered our room, it looked alright at first, but then we noticed how terribly dirty the couch was, along with the desk chair and the carpet. The walls were also damaged and there was a broken light in the bathroom. To top it off, there was a pizza box in the fridge... not from us. While the sheets seemed clean enough, there was a stain on one of the shams. The room was very cold all night, and there was significant highway noise (though this isn't surprising given the convenient location). The bright spot was that the receptionist at the desk when we left in the morning. Her name was Alicia and she was very sweet, and sincerely thanked us for coming. Overall, very upset by the representation on the website. Not truthful and prices are outrageous given conditions. Go downtown!

Smells like smoke. Dirty. Carpet coming up in hallways, entire hallway- serious trip and fall hazard.
