I just had the Ossobuco and on a scale of one to ten it was less than a two. Over cooked, dry and mostly fat. The polenta was simply a paste... shame on me for not sending it back after the first bite.

Stopped in for a bite and sat in the bar area. We were attended to quickly and enjoyed the beautiful view while we waited for a bowl of chowder to start off. The chowder was excellent; piping hot, creamy and plenty of fresh clams and nice small pieces of potato. Then things went down hill. We ordered a chicken wrap and some wings. Waited about 20+ minutes for the food to come out (it was an off time and not busy with diners). When the food arrived…big surprise…it was cool (soggy fries). It had clearly been sitting, waiting to be served. We didn’t have time to send it back and wait for a redo, but we mentioned it to our server when asked how everything was. She offered to have food warmed up but we told her we didn’t have time. We were polite but pretty clear that we were very disappointed. We held out some thought that some slight offer of compensation might be forthcoming (how about taking our two diet sodas -$6-off the bill…??♀️) Nothing. So…I guess the only recourse is to share our disappointment publicly. We should have read reviews before we elected to visit. What a shame…

Terrible experience. The setting is gorgeous and the dining room beautifully appointed. The gluten-free options my friend had (Caprese salad and veal dinner) were well-prepared and tasty. The wine selection was great. That was the best of it. The Caesar salads were so drenched with dressing we could not eat them. My beautiful piece of cod over spinach and fingerling potatoes was sitting in a large puddle of salt broth which completely overpowered the dish. I could not tase anything but salt. My friend's pasta with shrimp was cold, as was the extra sauce he requested. My husband's chicken was so overdone it was tough as leather. Our server, Julie, was pleasant and seemed well-informed when she answered our questions, but her service was very slow. It look a very long time for our wine to be served and even longer for the food to come out. Julie disappeared without explanation and an able young man took over. He gave us two complimentary desserts because our friend reported that his pasta was unacceptably cold. However, that compensation did little to make the evening any better. It was a hugely expensive meal when the only thing we all enjoyed was the wine.

Overall I think sunset grill and bar should get 1 stars because are drinks took 30 minutes to come out and are apps and main dishes came together and they took 1 hour the band sounded good and the food taste okay I think they should get more staff so they can operate at a high capacity also I felt like the waiters were lost half the time I saw a waitress giving food to the wrong table I know it happens but it was happing the whole night not just that waitress all of them also when we were trying to pay it took 1 hour for the check to come then 30 minutes for the check to come back this is why sunset bar and grill deserves a 1 star

My wife and I go out to lunch / dinner quite often, at least twice a week. This past Monday, we decided to take an hour drive to the Waters Edge. We were interested in seeing the place, having lunch, and potentially booking a future stay. We were greeted at the outdoor restaurant, Sunset Bar And Grille and were told the bar was open. We found a small cafe table and waited for about ten minutes, no acknowledgement. Went to the bar and sat there, no acknowledgement. Went back to the host who assured us we would get service and told him we would prefer to be seated because, there was no service in the bar area. He apologized, seated us, and assured us he would send a server over to us. 10 minutes, nothing. We watched s other tables around us were served. I finally flagged down a server, Tara, and asked if she could send over our waitress. Apparently, she was responsible for our table, but didn’t realize it. Apologized and took our order. We decided to order everything at once, given the level of service we had received. About 15 minutes later Tara comes by and told me for some reason, my drink order didn’t go through. I asked her to please bring over the waters we ordered. 10 minutes later, Tara comes by and told me they did not have the spirit I ordered. I told here to forget the drinks, just bring the water with lemon and our meals. Water came ten minutes later, no lemon. Tara said she would go to the bar to get some. Another 10 minutes, she passes by many time with drinks, lemons, etc to serve others. I flag her down and again requested lemon. 5 minutes later, the lemon arrives. 10 minutes later, someone else brings our app and meals out. Tara never returned to ask if we needed anything. The original host checked in and we told him we would appreciate some tarter sauce, as our server has abandoned us. Time for the bill, Tara reappears, says she sorry for the delay. I explain the delay was not the issue. It was that she ignored us, did not follow up at all. She said she was very busy, too many tables. I told her I understood, but the other tables were tended to. We were not. She repeated she was very busy. I gave her no tip. Her table side pay device ran out of paper. She said she will return with my receipt. When she returned, she literally threw the receipt at me, no words and sped off.I was insulted. Waters Edge, you need to stop hiring “children”. We expect more from your establishment. By the way, we are not going to look into spending any time there, as long as the help is of the caliber we experienced. You should be ashamed.

Beautiful scenery but no idea how the food is since that would require the waitstaff to show up and take an order-then actually serve the food before it's cold-and utensils require a special request and a 30 minute wait. EVERY TIME-but it's a lovey place to walk when you give up on the idea of a meal. Don't go hungry!

On the decline and not impressive at all. More expensive because of Easter but offerings lackluster. No whole smoked salmon as advertised nor were the crepes flambeed with cordial of choice. There was no cordial. And speaking of crepes they were pre made. Shrimp was watery and limp. Carving station meats were dry. Pesto for pasta station was replenished from a plastic, grocery store container. Platters remained in need of attention and chafing dish entrees were cold. The English muffin served with Eggs Benedict was untoasted. The waitress seemed to have too many tables and when something was needed, the guest had to get up from the table, find her and make the request. Carol, at the entrance podium, needs a refresher course in politeness. And where are the table cloths - no where in sight. A cost saving measure as the entrée selections which were chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, some beef swimming in gravy with more vegetables than meet, and some unimpressive cod. Too bad such a bad experience because Water Edge Brunch was an Easter tradition, but that tradition ended with Sunday's presentation and service.

We had the the salmon (cooked beautifully with roasted potatoes and asparagus) and the swordfish with risotto. My husband and I both enjoyed our dinners immensely and for dessert we had crème brûlée and gelato.
