The Valley Shore YMCA is a community-focused establishment serving the Shoreline since 1917. It is one of the community’s largest nonprofits, engaging people of all ages and abilities with high-impact programs. The facility has changed dramatically for the better, featuring a brand new fitness center with updated machines and a nice layout. Members highlight the great value of the membership, which provides access to many different classes. The strength train together classes are described as really hard core and will make you feel amazing. The swim lessons receive high praise, with instructors noted as kind, caring, and professional, helping children gain confidence and safety skills. The SPLASH program is a wonderful community-focused event, and family events like Healthy Kids Day are also wonderful. Staff, including receptionists, are highlighted for exceptional service, being extremely helpful and able to multitask while answering questions and assisting with registrations. The aquacize program for seniors is also fantastic. Some inconveniences are noted. The weekend schedule has a 3 PM closing, which is considered kind of inconvenient. The locker room situation can be a little tricky with young children, and more closed family changing rooms are desired. The facility can be very crowded on the weekends, which some find a bit overwhelming. A previous asset, childcare options in the afternoon/night, is no longer available, which was a benefit for working parents.
I love this YMCA everyone is so polite and helpful at the front desk! And the gym is always so clean and they have plenty of equipment for everyone! Their schedule is packed with so many different options to sign up for. Definitely a place you should try!!!

First experience at this locations and it was amazing! I want to thank Emma and Tony for making the experience so great, they made it easy, and fun. I’d highly recommend this location to anyone!
