The leaves are down but the place is still beautiful, especially the portion far north called Great Ledge with beautiful view of the Saugatuck Reservoir. Very well maintained and well marked, easy to navigate with a map.

Try the short 1.3 mile loop around the lake. There are a couple of steep inclines but not bad overall as far as difficulty. There is a hidden bench with an amazing view! It's right at the top of a small waterfall! Definitely bring bug spray! Lots of mosquitoes!

We were here back in March. It was still pretty cold when we were there. This place is beautiful and quiet. Great place to hike.

Nature deserves the five stars, one star off for no biking allowed! The few trails leading to reservoir are quite short, good for you youngish kids. More extensive trails available heading north along the water

A nice park with maybe 10-12ish miles of trail, mostly flat and wide with some rolling terrain. Trails are a bit rocky/technical if you're not used to hiking, watch where you walk. A little boring if you're a hard core hiker, but still a nice walk in the woods. Went on a weekday, and like most places in CT, was accompanied by the blaring sounds of leaf blowers most of the way, so bring your headphones if you're looking for peace.

Adventurous journey. Make sure you have a map on hand otherwise you will get lost on the way. Wear hiking boots then it’ll be easier to go through the trail. Be careful where you stepping due to others mention there is snake.

We were traveling from PA to Boston and we’re looking for a place to stop and stretch our legs. So glad we found this great preserve! We did a short hike around the pond. The trails were well maintained and well marked. Wear sturdy shoes…there are rocks and a lot of roots along the trail next to the water. Beautiful scenery!

Beautiful area with many options of different trails to choose from. Well shaded, but rocky and some spots muddy so wear good hiking shoes or boots!

Beautiful preserve with lots of trails and changing scenery, but go early as it gets very crowded. Got stuck behind a loud group who were out to socialize and not enjoy the scenery...at least they chose a nice location ?

So, this place almost killed me . It was my first time here . I started on the trail , and got about 2 miles in . At that point , the trail markers completely stopped . I thought I just got off track , and it took me about an hour to get back on the trail and tried to continue again. Once again, no more trail markers , lost for over an hour in the woods . Had to walk through a stream . Eventually found someone's house where I walked down their driveway , to a main road where I walked about 2 miles down the road to my car . I really wanted to like this place , but at this point , I'm fighting whoever designed this place.

Make sure to download the trail map with the"junction points" indicated. It will make it so much easier to plan your route and stick to it. The rest is just a really beautiful hike.
