I walked in yesterday ready to do some shopping and was immediately looked up and down and given a unwelcoming smirk by the three girls working there. I work in retail and can tell you, a nice smile and a "how can I help you?" goes a LONG way. These girls need to learn what customer service is. It was so uncomfortable that I left right away. I went to JCrew where my experience was WAY better.

When is your store going to open the back door again? Really inconvenient to make customers have to walk all the way around the block just to come in the front door. It closed during Covid and they thought this was the perfect excuse to keep it closed.

Pretty disappointed that the manager wouldn't take my return because I was past the 30 days since original purchase. I was trying to return a pair of jeans in order to get another pair of jeans...plus more items. It was only 60 days since my purchase and the jeans I was trying to exchange is still currently being sold in the store. I understand there are rules, but in this case I felt it made sense to accept an exchange. It felt very rigid and unaccommodating.

In the midst of holiday shopping bustle, still received just the right amount of personal attention. Associates on the floor and at the desk were pleasant and genuine, so my fellow shoppers were friendly and in good spirits. The Westport Madewell must be a nice place to work- it certainly is an enjoyable place to shop.

Specially came in for 1 item, but it was hard figuring out who worked here, the fact that no one greeted me didn't help either. I made my purchase and as I walked towards the door found the security tag started going off, I embarrassingly made my way back to the counter to get it removed. I really only came in store to receive the 15% student discount, but I don't think it was worth is for the customer service I received, or lack there of.

This is my first madewell store, which I visited with friends because we were in the area. It's only for women, but I found the colours, aesthetics and styles simple and pleasing and the prices seemingly reasonable. Or maybe I am just not used to women's clothing? Anyway, my friends left without buying anything although they liked the store. It was my first shopping experience with women. An interesting experience.

Amazing store with cool modern clothing. All the displays were neat and gave me great ideas about how to pair pieces together. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I was especially surprised to have my own personal stylist when I tried on their jeans. I would have walked out with a size too big if the salesperson hadn't helped fit me with not one but two pairs. It's also very cool how they accept used denim for a discount and put it toward a good use. I will definitely be back! Thank you!!

I went to Madewell today and must say the staff was awesome! I was kind of lost because I hate shopping. However, the women were very helpful and went out of their way to find me the perfect pair of jeans. I was very pleased and will be back.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have heard so many great things about Madewell jeans and I was looking forward to try on and find my perfect jeans. I walked in today thinking I would walk out with at least two to three pairs of new jeans. No one greeted me and I actually couldn't really figure out who was working there or not. The ladies were quiet and the level of pretentiousness... I think I will just order from Nordstrom and use their free shipping and return shipping. Shame on you, Madewell Westport. If the manager reads this, please note 3/15/15 employees. They need to be retrained.
