My favorite grocery store to go to. I know where everything is to be honest I need to address some things. 1: put the mac and cheese in aisle 6 instead of putting it in a different aisle. 2: the food is good. Overall I recommend coming here

This week's ad featured a number of items I went in to purchase. The sale begins on Friday. On Sunday, nearly all of my downloaded coupons were useless because the sale items were gone. Chicken thighs at .99/pound, gone. Country spare ribs, gone. There are so many examples, I cannot count. Meanwhile, the Instacart shopper has about 20 bags on her cart, and she's loading multiple sale items to all of the bags. This SS has had compromised supply, long before the distribution shortages and the pandemic. Torrington and Canaan have plenty of everything. I don't know what the problem is with the Winsted/Barkhamsted store.

It's not a bad Stop and Shop, but something about it feels smushed. The parking situation isn't too bad, and they have a gas station for gas rewards points. The store is pretty clean, as are the restrooms. They did take out several registers for a self-check out area, which is nice if you're only buying an item or two (because the space is a bit cramped, you're not fitting much more in that space).

I went to aldi's and got the following:- 2 bags of brussel sprouts aldi price 2.29 per bag..stop and shop was 2.99 per bag..total savings 1.40- 38 oz non brand ketchup aldi price 1.19 stop and shops price 2.79 total savings 1.60- celery aldi price 1.39 stop and shops price 1.99 total savings of 0.60- 3 bags of green beans aldi price per bag 1.49 stop and shops price per bag 3.29 for a total savings of 5.40- fresh pineapple also price 1.49 stop and shop price 2.99 total savings 1.50-avocados I bought four aldi's price 0.49 per stop and shop price per avocado is 1.66 total savings of 4.60- 5 lbs of grapefruit aldi's price 3.99 stop and shops price $10 total savings 6.00- 1 cantaloupe aldi's price 1.99..stop and shop price 3.00 savings of 1.My total bill at aldi's was 21.06 vs stop shops of 43.26..saving total of 22.20 or 105% So you pay a quarter for the cart you get back and bag your own groceries. Additionally aldi's cashiers get you out very quickly. Besides aldi's parking lot in great shape compared to the really large potholes in stop and shop in winsted. S&s is a RIP off in addition to really poor service.
