Went with my nephew who got me the VIP tour for Christmas. Simply put, it was amazing. Our tour guide, Kieth, was knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed what he was doing. The other staff we met along the way were just as great! Sitting in the cockpit of the B29 was the peak of the tour for me! Will remember it for a long time. Highly recommended for anyone interested in flight!

It's by far the greatest air museum along the eastern seaboard because of some really great reasons. It has a wide range of aircrafts that were both civilian and military and had achieved great feats in the aeronautical world. It gives you a thrilling and memorable experience with the flight simulator. All the aircrafts have boards informing the reader about their specialties and their use.

Very neat place. Went for their Halloween party in the hanger and it was a great time. Tons of beer, good food trucks and great people. The staff here go above and beyond. They are mostly veterans and are very educated on the planes and have passion for what they are doing. Will def take the kids back.

If you're looking for a journey that will take you 30,000 feet in the air and beyond, make sure to check out the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks! It happened to rain on my day off and I was looking up some of the best museums in CT, when I found the website for NEAM. I'm not into planes or anything, but just figured it was something to do...As soon as I walked into the first hangar, I was so impressed by all of the planes and helicopters on display! The old military aircraft were super cool to look at, and I had no clue so many of them were built right here in CT! There are three hangars with over 80 aircraft, engines, artifacts, etc. total. There's also an outdoor area with several additional airplanes to look at. My favorite part was the NASA space suits they have on display. It was so awesome seeing these up close and learning about how they function. I especially liked space toilet! There are guides stationed around the building to answer questions, explain the history of the aircrafts, etc.Overall a really awesome experience that all ages will enjoy!

I'm not sure of the cost to get in, because we went during the CT free summer museum program, and we also go when the kids have a trip with their Scouts. This place is a lot of fun. It's run on volunteers, and they are very knowledgeable and friendly. You are allowed to go in the helicopters and planes which is really cool. There's so much to learn here! The kids loved when they got to meet Dr. Flush!

The collection gathered at the New England Air Museum is worth the price of admission on its own. Yet they go above and beyond, adding plenty of additional information and much needed context to the aircraft on display. Since I had the opportunity to visit with a friend who is an aerospace engineer I was treated to additional information on all of the numerous jet engines cut away for a view of their interior. Each and every aircraft on display invited further inspection but I was most intrigued by the B-29 on display. It's a special experience getting up close to a bomber which is so large and majestic. The Goodyear ZNPK-28 Blimp Control Car also stood out due to its unique visual profile and often overlooked role in WW2.It would be wise to budget at least 2 hours for your visit, and if you have kids there are spaces geared specifically towards them, in addition to the primary hangar areas.

What an amazing museum and a hidden secret what is the nearest the Hartford airport in Connecticut. As a X flight attendant, I’ve always been fascinated with airplanes and the mystery of flight.Every aircraft imaginable is on display along with the history associated with it.It’s also a great museum for families with children. My favorite parts of the experience were the restored, Eastern Airlines DC3, flying an F-18 in the sim and the restored control car of a blimp. Honestly, the entire exhibit was exciting, too many to list, just get yourself there sometime and spend a day, reminiscing and rediscovering.

Nice Museum! Very interesting with plenty to see. However, we visited on July 28th, 2023 and there was road work being done to the parking lot so we had to park on the grass parking area they set up (and there was minimal parking spots- it was packed!)Besides the temporary parking situation, it was a great visit. Would return to the NEAM!

Impressive collection of planes, helicopters, and engines! We spent at least 3 hours or more looking at everything in the collection. Docent Craig was a wonderful source of knowledge further enhancing our visit with stories and history of many of the planes on exhibit. Our sincere appreciation for his time and expertise. If you haven't been to this museum, I highly recommend it!
