Danny and others made sure all my questions were answered and myself satisfied with all the options available before departing from the lot. They all were very welcoming and friendly, which made the experience even better. Getting the vehicle checked out and back in was a smooth process from start to finish. I’ll be renting from them again in the near future. Thank you guys.

I deliberately rented an EV but was expecting a Tesla Model Y - of course you know when they say "or something similar" you are guaranteed not to get the advertised vehicle. I do not think a Kia EV6 is similar to a Model Y, other than being an EV - the Kia was a lovely car but not a compact SUV.I can see why EVs are a bit cheaper to rent than regular gas vehicles - the charging infrastructure of this country makes the logistics of traveling several times more difficult than a gas vehicle. And even when you find a fast charger, you still have to wait an hour to fill up!I did learn a lot about the various charging companies and their various apps. I also learned that some Tesla superchargers will work with non-Tesla vehicles (using they new Magic Dock), so charger availability is good. I am not sure how much cheaper electricity is than gas. It's certainly not cheap enough to make me want to give up on gasoline!Sad to say, my next car will be a gasoline vehicle.

I was emailed one price which included my AARP discount and upon picking up the vehicle price had increased.Pickup it was 200.00 more plus a 200.00 dollar hold on my credit card. Not pleased will be filing a complaint. Customer service associate did not take my AARP card so that I could receive the discount amount I was promised online.Also vehicle was not properly inspected for cleanliness. Vehicle contained in arm rest documents from previous contract via Avis. Contract . Prior clients personal items should not have been left in the vehicle.

I had an emergency that day, thieves broke my car window and I needed a car I was going to NYPayless was open, it was really easy to book the car I wanted that day online, the price was good, and the staff was friendly. all and all Payless Car Rental helped make my bad day better. No joke!

Worst Car rental aftermath ever. For all Payless / Avis Employees: Get Out. After I returned the car - they didn't process it, so 3 days later, I got a text asking if I wanted to Extend the Rental. I tried to call the location where I dropped it off, but their phone is set to go to corporate '1-800- who knows where' after 3 rings - so I could never reach them. I called the number on the text - useless. I literally spent HOURS calling different Customer Support numbers - all useless. One person filed a report (hey here's an idea: CALL THE LOCATION WHERE I DROPPED IT OFF!!!). Oh no, we can't do That. But let me transfer you. Cold transfers, so you have to give the new person on the line ALL the SAME information you JUST GAVE the Last person! Meanwhile I keep getting texts. 6 days later, the texts are threatening me with Legal Action. People have filed reports for finding a missing car, talked to me, transferred me - I must have talked to a dozen people - wasted ALL that time for ALL those people, when a SINGLE phone call to the rental location could have solved EVERYTHING. I kept getting told that my confirmation number was for a different person. Turns out - they were checking my reservation under Avis, but the rental was through Payless. THEN, when I finally got someone who HELPED me, he says, 'oh, looks like there's an additional $77 charged on the rental. I'm like, ABSOLUTELY NOT - You people should be giving me a free Jaguar rental for a month after this mess. He can't fix it - tell me 'it should be resolved in 3-5 business days.' No offer of ' hey, let us give you something for all the trouble we've caused you.' WORST CAR RENTAL EXPERIENCE EVER! EVER, EVER, EVER!!!!!!!!

The rep is so rude when we decided not to upgrade because of a misunderstanding. The rep said it only cost $7 more per day but the final charge is going up by $50 for only 2 days and 2 hours. It is a robbery and not really honest. After we changed our mind, the rep is so rude that she has to re-do everything. After we got the car, the car is so shaky when hitting the brake. It is so dangerous to rent out an unsafe auto to the customers.

Poor customer service, car was a mess. Mechanically the car should have been through and inspection. Wiper blades were horrible. Car was banged up and dirty to the point that I took pics just to cya. Did I say poor customer service? Very rude. I will spend the extra in the future and book enterprise

OVERCHARGED SIX MONTHS LATER! We made a reservation through Expedia for a compact car for a total of $183. This was in DECEMBER of 2022. We picked the car up and the next morning it had a flat tire. We changed the tire and called Payless who advised us to go exchange the car. We did so. Now, six months later (June 2023) we get a charge of $421 on our Mastercard. After an hour total on the phone, I was told the extra charges were for an upgraded car and picking the car up early. We never asked for an upgrade - we took the car they gave us. in addition, our reservation was for 6:30 PM and we picked up, according to their records, at 6:17 pm. So they were charging for picking the car up less than 15 minutes early. I finally was able to get a refund of the difference but I had to fight hard for it. And I never got an explanation as to why it took 6 months. So, their "low" prices aren't so great when you are charged for upgrades you don't ask for and for an extra 13 minutes of time on the rental. I'll never use them again.

Smooth experience in pick up and drop off. Customer service was excellent. The car was well-maintained and took me where I wanted to go. I will definitely use Payless again.

Renting from Payless was easy pickup and easy drop off at Bradley International Airport. I only gave 4 stars because the car just reeked of stale cigarette smoke, I had to drive with one of the rear windows cracked a little so that the stench did not overwhelm me. Great Customer service.

If you rent from Payless Car Rental after reading this you deserve to be robbed by them. I reserved a car for 5 days and when I picked up the car of course none available but "take the minivan for the same price" (they charged me more after returning). I returned the car as contracted and weeks later they billed me for 6 extra days and I have been fighting with them since(reserved for $540 and they charged me over $1,800) Their call center is usually answered by someone with an accent that refuses to listen to you. Rent from them - I dare you! Crooks to say the least!

The car they gave me was in pretty bad shape. Wobbled on the highway. One tire was low when I got it. The guy who took it when I dropped it off was incredibly rude. I do not recommend.
