Whiting Mills is a thriving destination for the public to enjoy meeting artists and craftspeople in Connecticut's Northwest corner. The massive brick factory building has been transformed into a center for artistic, community, and social events, housing close to 60 tenants, including artists of every description, specialty shops, and various businesses. Visitors can explore the long hallways and discover a wide variety of unique shops and makerspaces, showcasing the talents and creations of the tenants. The Whiting Mills complex is especially lively during open studio events, allowing the public to witness the artists at work and browse their offerings. While the historic restoration of the old mill is praised, the lack of a cafe is noted as a potential addition to enhance the visitor experience. Additionally, the building's layout, with steep narrow stairs and limited accessibility, may pose challenges for those with mobility issues. Overall, Whiting Mills is described as a fabulous and unique destination, offering a glimpse into the vibrant artistic community and the repurposing of an important part of the region's industrial heritage.

Super fun multi studio building, even if you're not looking to buy anything or look at art the building is fun to walk through. All the artists I've spoken to are very friendly and open minded as well.

Artisans share their experiences, and there's plenty of goofs for sale. Nice, friendly atmosphere and they decorate the whole place during holidays.
