Fairly priced inventory with some items found to be aggressively discounted priced from time to time. You can find some nice clothes sometimes too and spend much less. “It has a bunch of stuff. Definitely find good deals in these stores. So I can't complain about anything like that. They have my dog food which I can't find anywhere. Just seems like the stores are always so nice and clean when they first open, and then slowly but surely they get flipped upside down. Some worst than others. It hasn't stopped me from going to Dollar General, I just avoid certain locations now. I mean, there are enough of them around.”

“I had the most amazing experience there today! To say it was a positive experience would be the understatement of the year. Long story short, I bought a cabana there a few weeks ago and this morning we went to put it together but one of the boxes in the kit was wrong and we could go no further. I walked in and told ALEX what happened and he said "let me go in back and see if we have another box like that". We'll, he returned a few minutes later and said he had it and we could simply swap out the 2 boxes. I was expecting to be told, sorry you'll need to call the customer service number in the instructions, which we did with no luck, and you'll have to deal with them. Honestly, that would have been legitimate since the store doesn't package the cabanas, they just sell them. Let's be very clear, ALEX saved our Memorial Day weekend! His customer service is so rare nowadays. Thank you also to whoever trained him and to Big Lots for empowering their managers to make these decisions! I will now look for reasons to shop there! Thank you again ALEX!”

“I am equidistant to this location and another one but I do prefer shopping at the one in Prospect. They have a good selection of food and goods. I use their app to load coupons and then just plug in my phone # at the register. The line usually isn't very long but even when it is it does move quickly which makes it easy if you just need to run in for one or two items. The sales people are helpful.”

“The Plainville Family Dollar is by far my favorite convenience store in the Hartford area. If you want, need or didn't know you had to have it, they carry it and the prices won't break the bank nor are you in debt for your first born and your appendages. I was able to decorate, stock up on basic household items and get some pretty fantastic clothing for myself and my son. I high recommend the Plainville location and ask for the store manager Daniel or the young redheaded and freckled cashier for help, they know their stuff! Thank your!”

“Great stuff here. I usually buy silk flowers to make arrangements. Their canned goods are very good except their brand of tomato sauces in the can. I mean crushed tomatos and tomato puree. You will be very sorry if you buy these products to make a meat sauce for macaroni. They are filled with the skins of the tomato. I mean I literally gagged. They got stuck on the roof of my mouth and I could not wash them down. It ruined my whole sauce. I had to start all over with a more popular brands. DO NOT BUY THEM!!!”

“I’ve been to many Dollar Trees in the area. They are usually the same.Close out products and lots of their own brand items.The past 2 years I have noticed that they are selling SOME Holiday decor items comparable to Michaels and Hobby Lobby for a fraction of the cost (usually $1.25 - although in some in some of the posher communities they have small sections called Dollar Tree Plus of which items can cost up to $5).The store in Cheshire is definitely one of the cleaner stores and the cashier there are severely overworked.Each and EVERY time I go there, they only have one cashier with the line 6-15 deep with her going on the overhead speaker between customers saying “Back up” with a pleading and hopeful look on her face.The ladies (sorry boys I have never seen a male at this location…probably accounts for the tidiness of the location) all seem to be very helpful - but as l mentioned the employees who work the register are visibly frustrated.Now that I live in Cheshire, I will probably not be going to the other locations as much…My opinion of the other local stores-Wallingford - 4/5North Haven - 4/5Hamden - 2/5Meriden 2/5”

“Dont sleep on dollar tree!! For 1.25 you can get just about anything. Sometimes you get what you pay for but rather lose 1.25 than to lose 6.00 somewhere else. My only complaint; why is it dollar trees mission to only have one cashier working at the busiest times of the day?”

“The people that work here always seem friendly and helpful, but I think anyone with mobility issues would have a terrible time in any Dollar General I have ever been in. There are always boxes and stock waiting to be put away on the floor, clothing and tripping hazards. Maybe it is hard for them to stay fully staffed, I don't know. Seems like an accident waiting to happen.”
